The Rad Dynasty: Recapping the 2023 Season first ever Championship Game, Week Seventeen

ned's rollers 190.78 vs TDs or Bust 145.08

The first ever champion of the Rad Dynasty has been crowned: congrats ned! Not only was ned a force to be reckoned with in this league, he is a force in all the leagues I've ever played in with him. He always does well. I think this is his third win this year alone. He's good! I think this is a team that is well set up for dynasty success. Ned will pick last (12th overall) in next year's draft. He already has a rock-solid, championship team around him. How will he improve the team next year? I can't wait to find out. August is so very far away.

TDs or Bust unfortunately loses his shot at being the first champ in Rad Dynasty history. He'll pick 11th overall in next year's draft. He made it to the title game this year, and was one of the stronger teams in the league this season. I am also interested to see what moves he will make to improve his team next year, and long term dynasty-wise.

Before we dive into the high scorers of the game, Rad Bowl (I just made that up) MVP honors go to: CeeDee Lamb for ned's rollers. He caught 13 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown in Dallas's real life win. This translated to scored 35.2 fantasy points for team ned. It was performances like this up and down the board for team ned that led to such a resounding win. It takes a total team effort to reach 191 points, and everything came together perfectly for ned this week.

Aside from CeeDee Lamb, ned's team was led offensively by: Jalen Hurts (25.18), Isaiah Pacheco (26), Chris Godwin (15.6), and Kenneth Walker (15). On the defensive side of the ball, Jesse Bates (17) and Bobby Wagner (17.5) were massive contributors. Like I said, just an all around great effort from ned's rollers.

TDs or Bust put 145.08 points on the board, which might be enough to win sometimes or maybe even most of the time. But not today. Projection-wise, this game was never very close. TDs or Bust came in as big underdogs and unfortunately were just flat out out-matched by a team that ended up scoring 191 points.

Perry's IDP had a giant week, combining for 61.5 points. If they hadn't showed up, this would have really been a giant blowout, because the offense did diddly-squat. George Pickens (16.6), Matthew Stafford (14.58), Sam Laporta (13.4), and Bijan Robinson (11.6) were the high scorers offensively. Rachaad White picked a bad time to have a bad game with 6.6 points. Hunter Henry had a goose egg. What does this mean for TDs or Bust? They return next year with an interesting core of players. There is a lot of young talent here, which could lead to this being a very successful dynasty team. Can't wait to see what happens!

I can't wait to see what happens in this league, in general. The season is now officially over. We'll reconvene in August of 2024 for the draft. That's so far away! For now, you have until January 8th to send me a list of keepers for next season. You must send me a list of 15 to 20 players. If you don't send me a list by the deadline, I'll just go ahead and carry over your top 20 players based on points scored.

Once the 8th has passed and the offseason has officially begun, feel free to message other managers and see if you want to make any trades with them. You can always email each other or text or private message each other - whatever works the best for you. If you don't know how to get a hold of a manager, message me and I'll see if I can get you in contact with them.

Here is next season's non-snaking draft order:

1 TBone's Terrific Team
2 Thunder Thighs
3 My Team
4 Dynastic Dan
5 Bluth Company
6 Turd Ferguson
7 The Killing Fields
8 Alice In Horns
9 BDB's Jet Setters
10 Show me the TDS
11 TDS or Bust
12 ned's rollers

One quick note - I know we've discussed trimming rosters from 25 down to 24 - just a tiny tweak to allow more options of players to pick up on the waiver wire. But I think I'm going to stick with 25 after all. I've been thinking about it. You're allowed to keep 20 players. If rosters were only 24 players - your draft would just be 4 rounds and then it would be over. That seems so short. I want it to be at least 5 rounds. Also, 25 roster spots is not considered a lot of spots as far as dynasty leagues are concerned. Most leagues carry 30 or more, which is way more than my measly 25. Plus, I want to complete at least one "cycle" before making any changes to the actual format of the league. We need to get at least two seasons worth of data before deciding to make any changes like that. PLUS, dynasty leagues are all about building a team and rostering players that might not get a lot of looks in a standard redraft league. One of the best parts of dynasty is taking a chance on someone like this, and then they hit pay dirt.

So I am sticking with 25. I truly think it is the best thing, and I hope I don't get any blowback for changing my mind like that. It's not like the reduction from 25 to 24 ever actually happened. I'm not technically changing anything. I'm changing my mind on changing something. It's different!

HERE IS A LINK TO A POST WHERE I AM KEEPING TRACK OF EVERYONE'S KEEPERS! I WILL UPDATE IT WHENEVER SOMEONE SENDS ME THEIR KEEPERS. REMEMBER YOU HAVE UNTIL JANUARY 8TH TO DO SO!

The Rad Dynasty: Recapping the 2023 Season first round of the playoffs, Week Sixteen

The first ever Rad Dynasty playoffs have come. Only the top 4 teams, the absolute best of the best have made it here. It's been a wild, up and down season in the league this year. It's been full of interesting stories. Several different teams have spent time in first place, including Alice in Horns and The Killing Fields. Turd Ferguson shook off a slow start, nearly winning their way into the playoffs before losing a must-win game in the final week of the season. Alice lost in week 15, too. Win and she would have been in. Another interesting story: Bluth Company being one of the league's highest scoring teams all season long but having awful luck, absorbing everyone's biggest game of the year week in and week out.

BDB's team has been an underdog all season long. They are middle of the pack on the scoring spectrum, but have been one of the best teams in the league as far as exploiting their matchups. ned's rollers have been dominant pretty much all year long. They've won 8 of 10 coming in and are the highest scoring team in the league.

TDs or Bust has been up and down all season. Started out 3-0, but then went on a skid and dropped to 4-4 and in danger of falling out of contention. They overcame that slow stretch and proceeded to go 6-1 in their final 7 games. That lone loss was by .09 points to first place ned. The similarly named Show me the TDs is a team that has always been scrappy and always seems to find a way to win. They come into the game having won 5 of their last 7 and putting up good scoring numbers in the process.

Before we get to the results, shout out to the Player of the Week for the first round of the playoffs: Justin Fields for Show me the TDs. He had 26.50 fantasy points, throwing for a touchdown and rushing for one more. He also had 97 rushing yards, which are valuable in fantasy. Good job Justin Fields. Show me the TDs has hopefully found his dynasty QB for years to come.

ATTENTION:
Literally nobody has sent their keepers into me yet. Remember, you must send me 15 to 20 players from your team to keep by January 8th. I know that's still almost 2 weeks away, but hopefully some of you will send them to me so I don't have to go around bugging you before the deadline.

Newly eliminated playoff teams: read the following link for clear instructions on how things will work now that your season is over. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

Now onto the recaps.

ned's rollers (1) 157.84 vs BDB's Jet Setters (4) 117.20

ned's team came in as massive favorites and were able to roll to a fairly easy win. Admittedly, I was not following the action too closely on Christmas weekend, but it seemed to me like ned's team was never in danger. They'll advance to the championship round next week and will earn the right to compete for the first ever title of the Rad Dynasty. Here is what I had to say about ned at the beginning of the year:

"Ned's team in particular stands out as an interesting dynasty team. Maybe he won't win this year. I don't even have him making the playoffs this year. But he is set up for some serious long term success. He's got Dalton Kincaid - who I wanted, JSN - who I also wanted, Jordan Addison, Zach Charbonnet, Jameson Williams, Jonathan Mingo, Javonte Williams, Kendre Miller. Just a ton, and I mean a ton of young talent. If these guys put it together in the next few years he is going to have the team to beat. He also has Kenneth Walker and CeeDee Lamb on his team, and they are already there playing at a star level. This is going to be a good good team down the road."

I didn't even mention Jalen Hurts in my evaluation! I was also totally wrong in my prediction he'd miss the playoffs, but totally right in that this team is going to be set up for long term success, and a real shot at creating an actual dynasty in this league. Maybe it all starts right here?

Ned's team was led by Jalen Hurts (24.44), Cee Dee Lamb (22.20),  and Bobby Wagner (20.5). BDB's team was led by Saquon Barkley (17.9), Jake Browning (15.4), and Chig Okonkwo (15.3). Not a great game across the board for BDB's team, as Stefon Diggs (6.9) and Travis Etienne (4.6) did not have superstar games. Cameron Heyward had a goose egg on the defensive end.

BDB closes the year at 9-7, including the playoffs. They'll pick 9th overall in the draft next year, as they lost their one and only matchup against the other losing team this week, Show me the TDs.

This makes the week 15 loss to BDB tougher to swallow for Turd Ferguson. If they'd won that game and made the playoffs, they would have been the highest scoring team in the first round with 162.02 points scored. Instead they get a meaningless consolation win.

---

TDs or Bust (3) 143.72 vs Show me the TDs (2) 140.80

Let's look at some of my other predictions I made before the year started:

"Predictions? I'll make some bold ones. The 4 teams that will make the playoffs this season are: me, TDs or Bust, My Team, and BDBs Jet Setters. I'll say TDs or Bust wins it all this year."

I was right on 2 of the 4 playoff teams. BDB made it and so did TDs or Bust. And now TDs or Bust is dangerously close to winning the entire thing and making my prediction come true. With this win, they move on to the title game where they will face off against ned's rollers.

This was a tight game, coming down to less than 3 points in the end. The predictions on Yahoo kept going back and forth between these two teams all weekend, from what I noticed. It was destined to be a close game, and that it was.

TDs or Bust was led by Matthew Stafford (24.72), Tee Higgins (22.5), Zaire Franklin (18), and Rachaad White (16.7). Let me just take this moment to give a shout out to Rachaad White. Every week he puts up massive numbers. He's definitely a candidate for MVP of the Rad Dynasty - one of a solid number of players. I didn't expect much from him this year but he has definitely proven me wrong big time. He was drafted in the 8th round, too. Definitely has provided higher than 8th round value.

Show me the TDs goes down in a blaze of glory. At least we don't have to worry about two teams with the word TDs in their name anymore. The aforementioned Justin Fields put up the most points among players started in the postseason. Justin Jefferson (24.6), Zamir White (14.5), and David Njoku (13.4) were the high scorers in the loss. Josh Jacobs was left in the starting lineup even though he was out with an injury, and that ended up being the difference here. If Sean puts in Najee Harris, who was left on the bench with 13.8 points, he wins.

Show me the TDs finishes the year 10-6 overall, and will pick 10th in the draft next season.

Before we move on, a special plug for TDs or Bust. He runs a dynasty league somewhat similar to this one. He had 2 inactive teams this year and is looking for someone to replace them. I'm not sure if he needs 2 still or just 1, but if you had fun in the Rad Dynasty and are now turned onto the idea of dynasty leagues - this would be a good chance to join a new, very fun league. Send me a message or an email if you are interested, or just contact TDs or Bust directly. I'll let it be up to him if he wants to share his email address here.

Updated draft order for 2024:

1 TBone's Terrific Team
2 Thunder Thighs
3 My Team
4 Dynastic Dan
5 Bluth Company
6 Turd Ferguson
7 The Killing Fields
8 Alice In Horns
9 BDB's Jet Setters
10 Show me the TDS

??
11 TDS or Bust
12 ned's rollers
??

Next week should be epic. Early predictions show ned as an 11 point favorite, but Perry hasn't set his lineup fully yet. Should be interesting to see how this goes. Coworker vs friend: who will win the first ever Rad Dynasty championship? Stay tuned.

The Rad Dynasty: 2023 Season, Week Fifteen Recap

And then there were four. I expected there to be a lot of chaos in week 15, but I don't think I was expecting this level of anarchy. There were a slew of upsets, and some hearts that were broken. Things came all the way down to the end of the Monday night Seahawks and Eagles game.

Before we go any further, props to player of the week Jared Goff, for My Team. He passed for 278 yards and 5 touchdowns, accounting for 41.12 fantasy points. Good job Jared Goff. I bet you didn't know that your performance would play such a big part in the battle for next year's #1 pick...

My Team (5-10) 179.17 vs TBone's Terrific Team (118.65)

I hate to kick things off with the one game that had no playoff implications, but I already had the matchup between these two teams open in my browser, so that is where we are starting. As I said before, this game had implications for next year's draft because the loser would guarantee the top pick in the draft. Led by Jared Goff, My Team unexpectedly exploded and were the highest scoring team of the entire week. Terry McLaurin had 24.6 points. All but 5 players on My Team scored in double figures.

As a result of the loss, TBone's Terrific Team will pick first in next year's draft. Lots of good prospects out there. This is where it would come in real handy if you were to do your dynasty research. This team has a decent core of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Tyreek Hill, and Derrick Henry to build around. They also have Kirk Cousins and JK Dobbins on IR - and hopefully both will be back next year. My Team will pick third in next year's draft.

Oh yeah, a reminder for everyone reading this. If you've been eliminated, send me your keepers! You can keep up to 20, remember. You have until January 8th to do this, but I'd hate for everyone to wait for the last minute and then I have to send out a million reminders. Love me and love yourself, and do this now, please :)

And now, we move on to some games with playoff implications.

Dynastic Dan (6-9) 151.01 vs Alice in Horns (8-7) 149.96

This was a stunning upset that no one saw coming. All Alice needed to do was win, and she would have been in the playoffs. Both teams were coming into this game headed in opposite directions. Dynastic Dan had lost 5 in a row and was coming off a game where they scored just 83.54 points. Alice in Horns had won 3 of 4 and had put up some monster scoring performances in those wins. The end of the season just did not go well for Alice. Lost by 3 points to Bluth Company - who didn't make the playoffs. And then by 1.05 points to Dynastic Dan, a team near the bottom of the standings. What could have been, for a team that has been one of the "main characters" this season. All our hearts go out to you, Alice. I almost feel bad I won.

How did this happen? Jahmyr Gibbs had 23.8 points for Dynastic Dan, outscoring teammate David Montgomery on team Alice, who only had 9.2 points. Jaylen Waddle busted out for 24.2 points in Tyreek Hill's absence. Tucker Kraft, Joe Flacco, and CJ Mosley rounded out the rest of the high scorers for Dynastic Dan, who finishes the year 6-9 and will own the #4 pick in next year's draft.

It was an uneven game for Alice's Rams players, as Puka Nacua had just 7.8 points but Kyren Williams had 22. The entire matchup came down to Monday Night. DK Metcalf needed to score 11.66 points for Alice to take the lead. He scored 10.3. A game of inches, indeed. Alice will pick eighth in next year's draft.

ned's rollers (11-4) 168.92 vs Bluth Company (7-8) 128.41

Of all the games with playoff consequences, this was probably the least dramatic. Even with a loss, ned still would have retained the #1 seed in the playoffs, due to owning the tiebreaker over the two 10-5 teams behind him.

This game was never close, as ned dominated from start to finish. The top scorers? Jalen Hurts (21.92), Chris Godwin (20.5), and an IDP - Montez Sweat (19.75). Bluth's team was led by Christian McCaffrey (39.2) and Josh Allen (18.16), but the supporting cast was a complete no-show in this one.

Bluth finishes at 7-8 and will pick 5th in next year's draft. I predict this team will make the playoffs next year. They are too good. They scored the third highest points in the league, but also gave up the most points in the entire league. It's hard to win when everyone is using your team as a punching bag. That's just really bad luck. I think it's hard to repeat that. They bring back a really solid team next year, and a very very good pick in what will be a deep draft class.

Show me the TDs (10-5) 144.44 vs Thunder Thighs (4-11) 84.24

Defense wins championships, right? Show me the TDs secures the #2 seed in the playoffs with the win. This team has given up the second fewest points in the league, behind BDB's team by only 3 points. That team also made the playoffs (more on that later). These were the two anti-Bluth teams in this league! Whereas Bluth had all the bad scoring luck, they had the good luck.

Deebo Samuel (19.9), David Njoku (21.4), and Tremaine Edmunds (21.5) led the way for Show me the TDs. Thunder Thighs put together a really bad overall performance. Only Frank Luvu (11.5) and Lamar Jackson (20.54) scored in double figures for this team. This is a team that has a solid core. Lots of bad injury luck this year. They started out 0-7, but managed to turn into a respectable team in the second half of the season. They will pick second overall in next year's draft. Lots of awesome players are going to be available at #2. I can't wait to see what you do, Mike!

TDs or Bust (10-5) 149.92 vs The Killing Fields (8-7) 143.70

It was plain and simple for TDs or Bust: win and you're in. It was a little more complicated for The Killing Fields. They needed to win and have a bunch of other things happen to make the playoffs. It seemed like things might have been aligning for them, with Turd Ferguson and Alice losing. But they just could not pull off a game that they were favored to win almost the entire week through.

The Killing Fields racked up a big lead. Davante Adams (20.1) and Ty Chandler (23.2) were the high scorers for his team. Unfortunately, his IDP didn't show up to play - which is unfortunate because they had been killing it all season! What a time for them to have a quiet game.

TDs or Bust secures the #3 seed in the playoffs with the win. Sam LaPorta, Matthew Stafford, and Rachaad White all scored 20 or more points. Up next is a matchup with #2 seed (and similarly named) Show me the TDs. These two teams met once in the regular season, with Show me the TDs eeking out a 6 point win.

Last but not least, a game that broke my heart:

BDB's Jet Setters (9-6) 115.96 vs Turd Ferguson (8-7) 110.61

I don't mean to sound biased against BDB, but I was pulling for Turd Ferguson - my brother Chris. All he had to do was win, and he would have been in. All the pieces had fallen into place, with Alice losing and The Killing Fields also losing. Instead, his team picked a real bad time to lay an egg. Just 5.37 more points would have gotten him the win, in what was a low scoring affair.

Dak Prescott's play was one of the main reasons for this letdown. He only scored 6.06 points after putting up some monster performances earlier in the season. This game came down to Monday night. Chris just needed AJ Brown and Dallas Godert to meet their projections and he would have won. What happened? AJ Brown was quiet with 8.1 points. Godert was quiet with 5.1 points. That was the theme of the week for Turd Ferguson. Quiet. His team underperformed by a whopping 42 points.

On the flip side, the winning machine that is BDB's team keeps chugging along. They finish as the true Cinderella team of the playoffs. The are matched up against ned in the first round, and ned has outscored this team by like 500 points so far this year. It's going to be an uphill battle, but if BDB's team has taught me anything it is NEVER to count them out.

---

Now that the regular season is over, I am going to put up a link to a post I made last night. Only one of you has viewed it, lol, so I know that most of you have not seen it. I suggest you read up on it, as it explains how next year is going to work, what I need out of you as far as sending in your keepers, and also next year's draft order.

Read it.

Here are the final standings for this season. Everything is reflected accurately through Yahoo, except for the second and third place teams. They should be flip-flopped because Sean won the only head to head regular season matchup between these teams. So he finishes higher in the standings.

And here is our final four~!

Good luck to all four teams. I predict BDB will shock the world again and beat ned. They'll then go on to play a team with TDs in their name for the championship, and lose.

I'm terrible with predictions, so congrats ned!

Eliminated teams: here are Instructions on how to proceed!

First thing's first:

NEXT YEAR'S DRAFT IS SET FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 18TH 2024 AT 4:00 PM CENTRAL TIME.
I'M GIVING YOU PLENTY, PLENTY OF ADVANCE NOTICE.
THIS TIME AND DATE IS SENT IN STONE AND WILL NOT BE CHANGED.

Now that that's out of the way, here is a quick reminder on what we need to do to prepare for next season. You have until JANUARY 8TH 2024 (which is one week after the championship round ends) to send me a list of which players you'd like to keep for next season. You must send me a list of 15-20 players. If you don't send it to me by the deadline, I am just going to carry over your top 20 scorers from this season, regardless of their position. If you'd like, you can go ahead and send me a list of which players you want to keep now, while the season is fresh in your mind.

One detail I didn't mention in my previous updates: when August 1st of 2024 rolls around next year, I will send out reminders to each of you. You will have until AUGUST 8TH to drop any of the players you kept. So if you kept 20 players, you can drop as many as 5 players to make room for more draft picks. You must carry over at least 15 players, though.

So when you send me your list of keepers (which is due January 8th), I would advise you to keep as many as you can, since you will be able to change your mind and drop a few more come August. If you do decide to roll with less than 20 people, just keep in mind that you won't be able to re-add anyone you decided to drop when August rolls around. And if someone gets hurt or retires in the offseason, and you only kept 15 players, you are stuck with that player until after the draft process, when you can release them from your team and pick up someone off waivers.

So I, for example, will be keeping the full 20. If anyone gets injured, retires, or gets surpassed on a depth chart during training camp, I don't have to worry about being locked into keeping them. When August of next year comes around, they can get dropped.

I hope this all makes sense. PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF IT DOES NOT!

Other small tweaks for next year that I must remind you of before you pick your keepers:

1. There will be one less roster space next season (24 instead of 25)
2. There will be a few point reduction tweaks to IDP scoring next season (solo tackles dropped to 1.25 points instead of 1.5 - also assisted tackles will be dropped from 1 full point to .75 points)
3. Adversely, a few tweaks will add points for "impact" plays (interception, safety, and fumble recovery will all move from 2.5 to 3 points)
4. You can trade players and draft picks in the offseason. Since you can't do it through Yahoo because a draft wouldn't have taken place yet, both managers must work out a verbal agreement and send it to me. I will then manually tweak rosters/draft order for next season. One thing to keep in mind is that I have never done a keeper league before, so I am a little unfamiliar with how the draft works as far as if it will let me tweak draft picks if a trade is made (like if someone winds up with two first round picks). Yahoo might not let me do that. Once I collect data on what Yahoo will and won't let me do as commissioner in the 2024 draft, I should be able to come up with some better rules as far as trading draft picks, etc for 2025.
5. Including a player or players in your trade is fine, as long as neither team exceeds 20 or goes below 15 as part of the deal. If a trade would send someone above 20 players, they must drop someone else on their roster to make room.

I think that is all I have to say.

Long story shot: send me a list of 15 to 20 players (preferably 20) that you want to keep for next year. Once you've done that, you can forget about this league if you choose to do so until August rolls around in 2024. If you want to remain active during the offseason, message and email your fellow managers and try to make some draft pick or player trades! I've heard it said in dynasty circles that the offseason is more exciting than the regular season. I don't know about that, but I can see it. I, for one, will be eyeballing all your rosters and draft picks and brainstorming ideas of deals that can be made to improve both our teams. Maybe I am just weird.

Please do yourself a favor and read an occasional dynasty article to prepare yourself for next year's draft. Familiarize yourself with the incoming rookie classes and where they end up getting picked in the real draft. I don't really have any websites to suggest. Just google 2024 dynasty football rankings - and you'll be linked to dozens of articles. I also follow dynasty football on Reddit. I listen to the Dynasty Happy Hour podcast, too. Not that it helped my team this year. Maybe it will pay dividends down the road, though.

For now, I leave you with next season's draft order (9 through 12 of course depend on playoff outcomes)

Round one:
1 TBone's Terrific Team (4-11) *lost season series with Thunder Thighs 0-1
2 Thunder Thighs (4-11)
3 My Team (5-10)
4 Dynastic Dan (6-9)
5 Bluth Company (7-8)
6 Turd Ferguson (8-7) **3 way tie, so overall points are the tiebreaker
7 The Killing Fields (8-7)**
8 Alice In Horns (8-7)**
9 BDB's Jet Setters
10 TDs or Bust
11 Show me the TDs
12 ned's rollers

Round two:
1 TBone's Terrific Team (4-11)
2 Thunder Thighs (4-11)
3 My Team (5-10)
4 Dynastic Dan (6-9)
5 Bluth Company (7-8)
6 Turd Ferguson (8-7)
7 The Killing Fields (8-7)
8 Alice In Horns (8-7)
9 BDB's Jet Setters
10 TDs or Bust
11 Show me the TDs
12 ned's rollers

Round three:
1 TBone's Terrific Team (4-11)
2 Thunder Thighs (4-11)
3 My Team (5-10)
4 Dynastic Dan (6-9)
5 Bluth Company (7-8)
6 Turd Ferguson (8-7)
7 The Killing Fields (8-7)
8 Alice In Horns (8-7)
9 BDB's Jet Setters
10 TDs or Bust
11 Show me the TDs
12 ned's rollers

Round four:
1 TBone's Terrific Team (4-11)
2 Thunder Thighs (4-11)
3 My Team (5-10)
4 Dynastic Dan (6-9)
5 Bluth Company (7-8)
6 Turd Ferguson (8-7)
7 The Killing Fields (8-7)
8 Alice In Horns (8-7)
9 BDB's Jet Setters
10 TDs or Bust
11 Show me the TDs
12 ned's rollers

Round five, and beyond:
depends on how many people each team keeps!

Also, to give you an idea of what a list of 15 to 20 keepers might look like, here are my official picks:

1 Justin Herbert
2 Anthony Richardson
3 Jahmyr Gibbs
4 De'Von Achane
5 Jaylen Warren
6 Zach Charbonnet
7 Roschon Johnson
8 Chase Brown
9 Jaylen Waddle
10 JaMarr Chase
11 Jayden Reed
12 Jahan Dotson
13 Quentin Johnston
14 Tucker Kraft
15 Michael Mayer
16 Kyle Pitts
17 Mark Andrews
18 TJ Edwards
19 CJ Mosley
20 Patrick Queen

Since I decided not to keep them, the following players will be discarded back into next year's redraft:
1 Joe Flacco
2 Pat Freiermuth
3 Khalil Herbert
4 Elijah Moore
5 Blake Grupe
6 DaRon Bland
7 Derrick Brown

When August 2024 comes around, I likely will be dropping several of my 20 keepers so I can draft more than just 4 players (3 of which would have to be a kicker, a defensive back, and a defensive lineman). Whoever I drop will also be added into next year's draft pool.

Please message me if none of this makes sense.

Remember, you don't have to send me a list of your keepers yet. You have until January 8th to do so. But if you want to go ahead and send them, please do. Just note that you won't be able to edit this list after you send it in.

I will make a separate post tracking who is kept, once people start sending their lists into me.

The Rad Dynasty: 2023 Season, Week Fourteen Recap

Week fourteen is over and done, and only one team has clinched a playoff spot, meaning it is all coming down to the very end.

Player of the week goes to Lamar Jackson for team Thunder Thighs! Jackson's 386 overall yards and 3 touchdowns accounted for 37.64 fantasy points for Mike's team.

Can you believe we are down to just one week left in the regular season? It's gone by so quickly. I guess that happens when your team sucks ass and you've had nothing to play for for several weeks now. I know I said I'd focus on the playoff contenders first from now on, but my team was so unbelievably bad this week I feel we have to start there...

Show me the TDs (9-5) 176.60 vs Dynastic Dan (5-9) 83.54

Read that again. 83.54 points. It was the second lowest scoring point total in the league this year. That dubious record is held by My Team in week 7 when they scored 62.86 points. My loss might be even worse, because My Team left 5 empty spots in his lineup that week, and I didn't leave any. Ouch.

Things were rotten for Dynastic Dan from top to bottom. I know I want to lose so I can get a good draft pick next year, but believe it or not I fielded my best team. Justin Herbert left the game with an injury after scoring 1.84 points. Vita Vea left with an injury after scoring 0. Khalil Herbert had 0.8 points. Michael Mayer had 1.90. My IDP combined for 18 points. They usually score something like 30 to 40 a game, at the very least. JaMarr Chase was was awful with 4.40 points. Only one player scored a TD for my team, and that was Jahmyr Gibbs - who was the only player to show up this week with 15.7 points. An absolutely dreadful performance all-around. Maybe the worst in Rad Dynasty history. And now I have no quarterback for the final week of the season. I'm going to have to cut a player from my team to make room for someone like Desmond Ridder or Joe Flacco or Easton Stick - and I'm not happy about that, considering I 100% won't even be keeping that quarterback next year. But I don't want to leave a spot empty. I'm going to be fighting to the end and looking to play spoiler for Alice to knock her out of the playoffs. Good luck with that.

Props to Show me the TDs for completely balling out against me with 176.6 points scored. This is what I get for saying they'd been lucky in one of my earlier recaps! Deebo Samuel scored 30 points, while three other players scored more than 20 (David Njoku, DJ Moore, and Brandon Aubrey). They are approaching the playoffs white hot and with as good a chance as any to win the inaugural Rad Dynasty chip. Despite the standings showing them in 3rd, they are actually in 2nd since they hold the tiebreaker against the similarly named TDs or Bust. They can clinch a playoff spot next week with a win against 4-10 Thunder Thighs - a team tied for last place.

Bluth Company (7-7) 137.82 vs Alice in Horns (8-6) 134.72

This was a devastating week for both teams. Despite the win, Bluth is now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs due to the outcomes of other games. Tough luck for this team as they currently stand as the third highest scoring team in the league. On the flip side, Alice went from being in a comfortable position to now having to fight for her playoff life in the final week of the season.

Bluth's team was led by three players scoring 20 or more points: Josh Allen (22.52), Drake London (24.2), and Breece Hall (22.6). Christian McCaffrey underperformed with "only" 17.30 points.

If Alice had gotten a better performance from Jordan Love (10.92 points) they probably would have won. Alice fielded a well-rounded attack with 9 players scoring in double figures. It just wasn't enough this week.

Turd Ferguson (8-6) 185.24 vs ned's rollers (10-4) 138.48

Who saw this one coming? Ned's team is in first place, but they got absolutely shellacked by my brother Chris. This was a must win for Turd Ferguson, as a loss would have most likely eliminated them from playoff contention. But now they've won 3 in a row and have a real shot at making the playoffs, depending on how week 15 goes. Ned has clinched a playoff spot already, but could drop as far down as the #3 seed depending on what happens in week 15.

Dak Prescott had a quiet week (by his standards) for Turd Ferguson with 21.94 points. The rest of the team was awesome, highlighted by Cooper Kupp (21.5), Ezekiel Elliot (25), Evan Engram (28.5), and Alex Singleton (24.5).

Ned's team was quiet by their standards. Jalen Hurts and Kenneth Walker scored in single figures. The IDP and the kicker were the bright spot for this team, as they combined for 50.5 points, over a third of ned's entire point total for the week.

The Killing Fields (8-6) 142.44 vs Thunder Thighs (4-10) 140.19

This was too close for comfort for The Killing Fields, who keeps their playoff hopes alive with a slim win over Thunder Thighs. Player of the week Lamar Jackson led the way for Thunder Thighs, followed by Austin Ekeler and his 20 points.

Stop me if you've heard this before, but The Killing Fields dominated with their IDP, who combined for 66 points. This is a team that week in and week out has massive IDP performances - which is something that is quite unusual for a fantasy team. Usually they are more up and down. But they've been up all year for CRA and his team. Hopefully the offense can pull it together for the playoffs, as this team's running back and tight ends have been flat out bad this season. I'd say you can't depend on your IDP forever, but the way they've been performing this year has proved me wrong!

TDs or Bust (9-5) 200.76 vs My Team (4-10) 117.54

Things continue to go downhill for My Team, as they were completely obliterated in this matchup. After starting the year 2-0, and later 3-2, they have now lost 7 of their last 8 games (that one win was against me, of course. Sigh). They square off against TBone's team in week 15, where the loser gets the #1 pick in next year's draft. That should certainly be a game.

TDs or Bust hasn't clinched a playoff spot yet, but they are playing just as well as anyone. They've won 5 of 6 and have a ton of momentum going for them. This team had nine what I would call "big games" from their players this week. There are too many to list, but Matthew Stafford (29.66) and Raheem Mostert (22.5) were the high players, while only four players scored in single figures.

BDB's Jet Setters (8-6) 154.10 vs TBone's Terrific Team (4-10) 96.90

BDB's team is the little team that could. Constantly underdogs, constantly coming out on top. They are now firmly in the playoff hunt. They'll need a little luck to get in, however, as they are the lowest scoring team in the playoff hunt, and it could very well come down to a 3 or more way tie - in which case it would come down to points. But just the fact that they are here is terrific.

BDB put together a well-rounded attack. They took a chance on Jake Browning and it paid off, as he scored 26.7 points. Joe Burrow who? Travis Etienne and Saquon Barkley had big games, while BDB's IDP also went off.

TBone's team was quiet in defeat. Only 3 offensive players scored in double figures (Gardner Minshew, Derrick Henry, and Tyler Lockett). The rest of the team didn't even bother to show up. Tight ends have been a problem for this team, as I've noted before. Durham Smythe and Tommy Tremble combined for 3.3 points, while Connor Heyward (on the bench) had 2.50 points.

Playoff Scenarios:

With one week left in the season, I'm gonna run down a few playoff scenarios. The only team guaranteed to be in the postseason is ned's rollers. If TDs or Bust beats the Killing Fields next week, they're in. Show me the TDs has a slightly easier path, as they are in if they can beat 4-10 Thunder Thighs. That would leave the #4 spot wide open if both teams win. Right now, four teams are tied for that 4th spot at 8-6. This is where things get complicated, even more so if any of the "TD" teams lose.

Turd Ferguson and BDB are tied at 8-6 and they play each other next week. The losing team is out. The winning team isn't necessarily in, though. the way things are going, I am anticipating a whole bunch of 9-6 ties. Remember, when there is a tie between two teams, the tiebreaker goes to head-to-head matchups. If that's a wash, then it goes to overall points. If there is a tie between more than two teams, the tiebreaker is solely determined by points.

It is all very complicated.

I'll make some predictions:
Alice beats Dynastic Dan. Alice is 9-6.
The Killing Fields upsets TDs or Bust. Both teams finish 9-6.
Turd Ferguson beats BDB. Turd Ferguson is 9-6.
My Team beats TBone. No playoff implications.
Thunder Thighs upsets Show me the TDs, who are now 9-6.
Ned beats Bluth. No playoff implications other than ned's seeding.

In this instance, five teams would be tied at 9-6. Ned is the #1 seed. The #2, #3, and #4 playoff spots would all be determined by points because of the massive tie, meaning Alice is the 2 seed, TDs or Bust is the 3, and Killing Fields is the 4. Turd Ferguson and Show me the TDs would be out - as they are the lowest scoring remaining teams.

Hopefully it does not come to that. Any and all of this could change depending on the outcome of just one of these games. Even the amount of points scored in a game could change someone's fate, like if Turd Ferguson's team completely goes nuclear this week.

There is no predicting what could happen. I just want everyone to be prepared for me to manually have to re-seed the playoffs, if it does come down to some kind of tiebreaker. If the TD teams both win, Show me the TDs holds the tiebreaker and would take the #2 seed - despite them being lower in Yahoo's standings. It is also possible there might be a two-way for that last playoff spot, at which point I'd have to give it to whoever holds the head to head tiebreaker, as opposed to Yahoo giving it to the highest scoring team. Please be prepared for this!!! I want no drama or controversy, as I've made these rules very clear from day one.

Draft Scenarios:

This could all get complicated, too. The loser of the Tbone/My Team matchup will have the #1 pick in next year's draft, even if Thunder Thighs loses - as Thunder Thighs holds both the points and head to head tiebreakers against both teams. Long story short: if Thunder Thighs loses, they have the #2 pick. If they win, they get the #3 pick. They are locked into one of those two spots.

Dynastic Dan is locked into the #4 pick. If Bluth loses, they are locked into the #5 pick. If Bluth wins, they could potentially get into a massive 8-7 tie with some teams above them that lose. At which point it will come down to points as a tiebreaker. They could potentially drop as far as the #8 pick if they win, so at this point it would almost be beneficial if they lost. But I am sure Bluth will try his best to knock first place ned down a few pegs in the playoff seedings next week, right?

After next week's games wrap up, the top 8 draft order will be set. The #9 and #10 picks will be the first two teams eliminated from the playoffs (with the normal tiebreakers in place). The runner up has the #11 pick, while the champ gets the #12 pick.

I'll post some useless predictions again.

1 Tbone's Team
2 Thunder Thighs
3 My Team
4 Dynastic Dan
5 Bluth
6 BDB
7 The Killing Fields
8 Turd Ferguson
9 TDs or Bust
10 Alice in Horns
11 Show me the TDs
12 ned's rollers

I'll close things out with a look at the current standings. Maybe looking at them will help you make sense of the mumbo jumbo I just posted.

Who am I rooting for in what should be a giant week 15 clusterfuck? As the commissioner, I always want to be impartial. But of course I'm going to be rooting for my brother Turd Ferguson to take it home. Go Chris, go!

The Rad Dynasty: 2023 Season, Week Thirteen Recap

Week 13 is in the books, and wouldn't you believe it - the season will be over for all but four teams in just two short weeks. Start looking ahead at who you want to keep on your team for next season. Remember - you must keep a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20 players from your team to carry over to next year.

Week thirteen's player of the week was DK Metcalf for Alice in Horns. Metcalf scored 3 touchdowns on 6 catches. He also racked up 134 yards. His 34.4 point outburst was actually the third highest scoring total of the week. Brock Purdy (Turd Ferguson) scored 37.46 fantasy points and Geno Smith (The Killing Fields) scored 35.96. But neither player was started by their respective teams, so neither one qualifies for player of the week.

Instead of starting out talking about my matchup, like I normally do, I'll talk about the games with actual playoff implications first.

Alice in Horns (8-5) 201.08 vs Show me the TDs (8-5) 154.60

Show me the TDs has fallen out of sole possession of second place, as Alice in Horns completely blew them away. Alice's team continues to impress, despite getting hit with a slew of injuries. Her team is now second in the league in scoring at 160.38 points per game. This is the fourth time Alice has scored 190 or more points in a game. By comparison, my team has not reached 190 points even one time. This is definitely a team to be reckoned with, and may be my new favorite to win it all this season.

Alice's team has too many standout performers this week to list, so I'll just give a shout out to the top 3: the aforementioned DK Metcalf, Jordan Love (29.68) and Alvin Kamara (25.9). Overall, four players scored 20 or more points for Alice, while two others had 18.

Show me the TDs could have beaten a number of teams this week, as they had a solid week scoring wise. Deebo Samuel (33.8), Mike Evans (27.2), and Tua Tagovailoa (23.2) led the way in the loss.

TDs or Bust (8-5) 165.07 vs BDB's Jet Setters (7-6) 103.73

This was a pivotal game as both teams came in at 7-5, desperately needing a win to control their playoff destiny. Perry's team came out swinging, though. It's going to be tough for BDB to pull their way into the top 4 as they now sit in 7th place.

Trevor Lawrence had a big fantasy game (29.12), but left with an injury. This will be a situation to monitor for TDs or Bust. Sam LaPorta (24.5) and Antoine Winfield Jr (23.5) were the other high men for Perry's team. On the flip side of things, BDB has a horrendous day offensively, as two players posted goose eggs and only four scored in double figures.

To make the playoffs, BDB will likely have to win out. They do have some favorable matchups ahead with Tbone (4-9) and Turd Ferguson (7-6) rounding out their schedule.

TDs or Bust has a similarly favorable schedule with My Team (4-9) and The Killing Fields (7-6) waiting in the wings.

Turd Ferguson (7-6) 162.16 vs Bluth Company (6-7) 121.16

Another pivotal matchup, as both teams came in with 6-6 records. Bluth Company, who had been the second highest scoring team in the league coming in, picked a bad time to have a poor game. They now drop to 6-7, and honestly I am not sure if they can mathematically make the playoffs at this moment. Lots of rough performances up and down the board, aside from Christian McCaffrey (20.8) and CJ Stroud (18.06).

Turd Ferguson has been on a hot streak lately, winning two in a row and four out of six overall. Dak Prescott continued his fantasy MVP level style of play with 34.26 points. His starting receiver core of Cooper Kupp, AJ Brown, and Chris Olave all scored 12.9 or more fantasy points each. That is a great dynasty receiving core.

Turd Ferguson has an absolutely must win game on their schedule next, as they face off against first place ned's rollers. This could be the game of the week next week. Bluth has an equally tough game against second place Alice. If either team loses, they can basically forget making the playoffs, if they haven't already.

The Killing Fields (7-6) 134.6 vs Dynastic Dan (5-8) 103.78

It's going to be tough for Killing Fields to make the playoffs, but this win against Dynastic Dan was a great start for them. They are hanging in there at 7-6 with a matchup against 4-9 Thunder Thighs next week. This could be an 8-6 team going into the final week of the season against another team that will be scrapping for their playoff life, TDs or Bust.

James Conner and his 22.5 points led the way offensively for the Killing Fields. Once again, this team killed it on the defensive end as their starters combined for 57 points.

Since Dynastic Dan was already eliminated from the playoffs, I decided to try and have a little fun and throw out as many rookies out there as I could. I just had a good feeling about them. And you know what? It almost panned out. The rookies held their own quite well. Da'Von Achane (23.8) and Zach Charbonnet (16.4) had great games. Quentin Johnston. Tucker Kraft, Anders Carlson, and Lukas Van Ness all overperformed, beating their projected point totals. It was the non-rookie veterans that shit the bed this week. Justin Herbert (7.98) and the IDP, who combined for 18 points (7 of them from Van Ness) were what cost the team this week. If I get normal production from any of these guys, I probably win. Next week I look to play spoiler against 8-5 Show me the TDs and avenge a tough loss from earlier in the year.

Thunder Thighs (4-9) 166.74 vs My Team (4-9) 162.82

On the surface this game only looked to be important as far as draft order was concerned, but it turned out to be a pretty entertaining game. Definitely the closest matchup of the week. Both teams churned out great performances as their teams overperformed big time.

Nico Collins (29.6) and DeVonta Smith (20.1) led the way for Thunder Thighs. My Team was paced by Joe Mixon (26.7) and Chuba Hubbard (22.4).

Both teams now sit at the bottom of the standings in a three way tie for last with TBone's Terrific Team. My Team and Thunder Thighs split their season series, so if they end up in a two-way tie at the end of the season, My Team will come away with better draft positioning because they've been outscored by Thunder Thighs this year. Thunder Thighs has also won the season series with TBone's team, in case they wind up tied at the end of the year. Tbone currently leads My Team 1-0 this season, but they square off against each other in the final week of the season. That game could determine who walks away with the #1 pick in next year's draft.

ned's rollers (10-3) 165.32 vs TBone's Terrific Team (4-9) 131.38

This was a fairly inconsequential game. Ned has a two game lead for first place, so even if they'd lost they still would have been in first. TBone won't make the playoffs and could be in contention for the #1 pick in next year's draft.

This was never a close game. Jalen Hurts (25.92) and CeeDee Lamb (26.6) were the high men for ned's team. Tyreek Hill (29.8) and Derrick Henry (24.5) had big games for TBone. This team has a solid core that could compete next year. They just have absolutely nothing at tight end, as all three of their tight ends on the roster had goose eggs this week. Brutal. Luckily only two were started. They also don't get much from their IDP ever. Hopefully, armed with a high draft pick TBone can turn things around next season.

Below is a peek at our updated standings. Please click the image to enlarge it. I have no idea how to make it any bigger without totally screwing the margins. Ned can clinch the #1 seed with a win next week. The rest of the playoffs are anybody's guess. Looking at strength of schedule, I'm guessing the top 4 will hold with Alice, TDs or Bust, and Show me the TDs making the postseason and everyone else missing out. It is possible that any combination of The Killing Fields, Turd Ferguson, or BDB can sneak in there as well. Any given Sunday, amiright?

Please remember the tiebreakers in this league. I keep fearing it will come down to one, and I'll have to adjust Yahoo's standings accordingly - and someone won't be happy about it. I've warned you multiple times!

If two teams finished tied in the standings, the team who won the season series between the two teams holds the tiebreaker. If they split the season series, it comes down to points. This works not only for playoff positioning but draft positioning as well (but in reverse). The team that loses the season series or scores the fewer points (the worse team) picks higher in the draft.

If three or more teams finish tied in the standings, it solely comes down to points. Easy enough.
