The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Twelve Recap

Week twelve was an interesting week. It was a week where it was mainly teams with a winning record vs teams with a losing record. I mentioned last week that this would be an interesting week if there were upsets. And would you look at it - there were.

The player of the week had a lot to do with one of the bigger upsets. He scored 44.2 fantasy points for BDB's team with his 302 total yards and 3 touchdown performance. This giant game helped propel BDB to the win over heavily favored ned.

BDB's Jet Setters (4-8) 177.22 vs ned's rollers (7-5) 130.81

Ned has been tough this year and came into this matchup favored against BDB, who has not been great this season. But Saquon's big performance led BDB to the blowout win. This loss drops ned to 5th place - on the outside of the playoffs looking in. This was a giant game and an absolute must win for ned. And honestly I thought coming in that he had it. But the playoff landscape has been shaken up with this one, big time.

Bluth Company (2-10) 150.08 vs Dynastic Dan (9-3) 120.73

I totally called this. I've been worried about this game for a couple weeks now. Almost my entire team was on bye and I ended up starting guys I never would have started otherwise. I thought I still might be able to pull it off, but alas it was not meant to be.

An improbable last place vs first place win. Bluth wins his second game of the year, but remains in last place. Please bring this same energy next week against TDs or Bust, mkay? Luckily, the loss does not drop me out of first place, as Fergalicious also lost. Dynastic Dan looks to get back on track against reeling TBone in week 13.

Teflon Don (6-6) 141.85 vs Fergalicious (9-3) 117.98

Our third big upset looms large, as my brother Chris does me a big solid and knocks out Fergalicious. This loss drops Fergalicious into a three way tie for first with Dynastic Dan and Alice. Fergalicious has a fairly favorable rest of their schedule, so we'll see if they can hang on the rest of the way. TDs or Bust is right behind at 8-4 and then ned at 7-5. He can't afford to lose anymore games.

Teflon Don's game next week against 6-6 show me the TDs is a big one. The loser is pretty much out of the playoff hunt.

Alice in Horns (9-3) 138.82 vs The Killing Fields (3-9) 90.01

Alice rolls to an easy win as The Killing Fields once again gives a terrible effort in yet another loss. Anyone with the Killing Fields on their schedule immediately gets an easy win, it seems. This is a team that is in major need of a rehaul next season.

Alice, technically in third, is tied with Dynastic Dan and Fergalicious at 9-3. She should be favored to win her final three games of the season. But as we know, anything can happen in fantasy football. I'm betting she makes the playoffs though. To me she is the biggest lock.

TDs or Bust (8-4) 155.27 vs My Team (5-7) 141.41

The Cinderella story of My Team ends here, as any slim chance to make the playoffs has now vanished completely. Hats off to this team though, as it always gives a heck of a battle. This is a team that can easily turn things around in 2025 with some savvy draft picks.

TDs or Bust wins a pretty close game and moves into the 4th playoff spot (for now) ahead of ned's rollers.

Show me the TDs (6-6) 166.78 vs TBone's Terrific Team 4-8 (75.10)

Another terrible performance from TBone's team, as this game was not competitive. It is hard to believe TBone started out the year 4-1. This is now the team's 7th consecutive loss.

Show me the TDs keeps their slim hopes alive with this big win. It was about time they got an easy victory, as this team seems to catch all the bad breaks. They are a high scoring team and could easily have 7 or 8 wins if things had gone a little differently this year.

---

A new look at the standings! Things are as tight as can be at the top. Just three weeks in the season left, and there are five teams fighting for four spots. I'm really curious what is going to happen. Is ned in trouble? Will one of the top teams have a late season collapse? Show me the TDs and Teflon Don are barely hanging on at 6-6. It would take multiple teams collapsing for them to have a chance. The rest of the teams can start planning for next year.

The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Eleven Recap

Recap. Yay. I'm completely drained of energy, so this is going to be the quickest recap ever.

Player of the week: Jared Goff. 42.58 points. My Team wins.

My Team (5-6) 167.33 vs Bluth Company 125.78 (1-10)

My Team continues to play well, led by Jared Goff. Playoffs look like a longshot but who knows they have been very good lately. Bluth Company is not having a good season.

BDBs Jet Setters (3-8) 132.33 vs Teflon Don (5-6) 108.59

This was a giant setback for Teflon Don. They needed this game. They basically have to win out to make the postseason at this point. On the BDB side of things it was a relatively meaningless win in what has been a lost season for this team.

Fergalicious (9-2) 148.05 vs Tbone's Terrific Team (4-7) 120.37

This game went pretty much how we expected, with Fergalicious coming out on top. They needed this win because Dynastic Dan lost. So they're now tied for first again.

TDs or Bust (7-4) 173.68 vs The Killing Fields (3-8) 87.64

Another game that went just about as expected. The Killing Fields sucks and its manager is in danger of getting replaced next year. TDs or Bust stays alive in the playoff hunt. It's going to be a battle between them/ned/Alice for the last two playoff spots the rest of the year. Or even Fergalicious and Dynastic Dan if they hit a skid.

Show me the TDs (5-6) 150.76 vs Dynastic Dan (9-2) 143.23

This was a must-win for Show me the TDs. Even with the win, they are going to need a small miracle to make the playoffs. Dynastic Dan stays in first place due to tiebreakers with Fergalicious. I can't help but worry however that my team is going to completely fall apart and miss the playoffs in the last few weeks of the season. 1-10 Bluth will probably be favored against me in week 12, because 70% of my team is on bye.

Alice in Horns (8-3) 171.10 vs ned's rollers (7-4) 135.14

This was a crucial matchup between two teams that had been tied at 7-3. Alice ends up with the surprisingly big win. That's now two in a row that ned has lost, and he hasn't looked particularly good in either game. Is this the first ever cracks forming in the ned empire? Alice now holds sole possession of third playoff and has a pretty favorable schedule the rest of the season.

---

The standings will be posted below. This is a prime time to remind everyone that head to head matchups determine two-way ties. So for example, look at TDs or Bust and ned tied at 7-4. Yahoo shows Perry ahead because of points scored. In reality, ned is actually ahead because he won their head to head matchup earlier in the year. It was the only time these teams will meet this year, so that means ned holds the tiebreaker for the rest of the season. If TDs or Bust and ned tie at the end of the year, ned wins that tiebreaker. If there is a three way tie between those teams and, say, Alice - then the tiebreaker would be determined by points.

This tie breaking method also effects the two 3-8 teams. Yahoo has BDB ahead in the standings because of points. But The Killing Fields won the season series against BDB, so they actually hold the tiebreaker and would be in 10th right now. This, in a way, is disadvantageous to TKF because neither team is making the playoffs, and now BDB will get the higher draft pick if they finish tied in the standings. But remember, that tiebreaker goes out the window if three or more teams finish tied. Then, it is points.

I hope that makes sense.

Next week should be interesting in the Rad Dynasty. All the good teams play bad teams. It's just a matter if seeing if the good teams can hold off any upsets. Upsets could really shake up the playoff bracket at this point in the season. Personally, I am worried about losing to Bluth. I think that is the most realistic upset this week. We'll see.

The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Ten Recap

Week ten is over - and would you believe it? We just have five weeks left in the regular season of the Rad Dynasty. It has gone by so quick, hasn't it? Now, let's get right to the player of the game for this week. It was established right away on Thursday night against the Ravens: Ja'Marr Chase! His 11 catches for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns translated to 49.9 fantasy points for Dynastic Dan. His performance was a massive factor in Dynastic Dan's record setting victory against Fergalicious. Let's take a look.

Dynastic Dan (9-1) 203.60 vs Fergalicious (8-2) (157.25)

In this highly anticipated battle between the league's two best teams, Dynastic Dan came out on top, in large part due to the aforementioned Ja'Marr Chase. The 203.6 points breaks the record for most points scored in Rad Dynasty history. Dynastic Dan has been on a roll lately, with two 4-game winning streaks already in the season. They'll look to make it five in a row against Show me the TDs in week 11.

Fergalicious falls to 8-2, but only falls to second place in the standings. They have a great chance to rebound in week 11 against slumping TBone, who comes in with a 5 game losing streak.

Alice in Horns (7-3) 152.22 vs TDs or Bust (6-4) 142.66

This was another important game in the playoff race. Both teams came in tied at 6-3 and also tied for the fourth and final playoff spot. Alice's team was able to pull off the crucial win, in large part due to Joe Burrow - who fueled Ja'Marr Chase's big day.

4th place Alice will play another giant game in week 11 against 3rd place ned, while 5th place TDs or Bust looks to regroup against The Killing Fields, who has been terrible this year.

Teflon Don (5-5) 126.78 vs ned's rollers (7-3) 101.98

This was an ugly game, but Teflon Don managed to eke out the low scoring win. It's funny to look at the box score for this game. It's just a bunch of single digit efforts for both teams (with a few exceptions). This was a crucial win for Teflon Don, who stays alive in the playoff hunt. You have to think this is just a blip on the radar for the normally solid ned.

Teflon Don has a chance to move above .500 next week against dreadful BDB, while ned faces Alice in a giant game.

Bluth Company (1-9) 139.38 vs The Killing Fields (3-7) 103.04

It finally happened! Bluth got his first win! It was a long time coming. The Killing Fields roster is a mess right now, and Bluth took full advantage.

At 1-9, Bluth remains in last place and in possession of the first pick in next year's draft, in part due to BDB winning this week. Bluth faces off against surprising My Team next week, in what should be an interesting matchup. On the flip side, The Killing Fields seems to be sputtering away, and they have a super tough matchup against TDs or Bust next week, who is probably looking at the game as an easy win.

My Team (4-6) 118.45 vs Show me the TDs (4-6) 118.43

Another heartbreaking loss for Show me the TDs, who has now lost two straight games by less than a point. They could easily be 6-4 instead of 4-6 at the moment. Tough break! Next week should be a must win game for this team's chances, as they play Dynastic Dan. I'm expecting a close game.

My Team continues to surprise after their 0-5 start. They're now 4-1 in their last 5 games. They look to keep the good vibes going against 1-9 Bluth Company in week 11.

BDB's Jet Setters (2-8) 108.96 vs TBone's Terrific Team (4-6) 78.04

This was easily the worst matchup of the day. The Toilet Bowl between two of the league's fastest sinking teams. They didn't even combine to score as many points as the single highest scoring team in the league this week. Very sad.

TBone has now lost 5 in a row after a 4-1 start. Sucks, because this team could still be in there fighting for a playoff spot with a little more effort. Things don't get any easier against 8-2 Fergalicious next week. BDB plays Teflon Don in a game that means much more to Donnie than it does BDB. We'll see what happens.

---

Here is an updated look at the standings. It's so nice seeing myself alone at the top in first place, although I'm certain it is not going to last. Alice and Ned are tied in the standings at 7-3, and haven't played each other yet. That changes next week, as they meet for their first and only time this season. The winner will hold the season tiebreaker, which could be big if they find themselves tied at the end of the year.

The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Nine Recap

Just six more weeks left in the regular season and things are cluttered at the top of the standings. Next week is going to be absolutely massive, as there are two games that will be crucial to sorting out this mess. We'll dive into that, but first I have to give my normal player of the week props. The honors this week go to Joe Burrow for Alice in Horns. Burrow's 38.14 points led all scorers and helped lift Alice to 6-3 on the season. Speaking of that game...

Alice in Horns (6-3) 163.19 vs Bluth Company 115.74 (0-9)

Alice moves into a virtual tie with TDs or Bust for the 4th spot in the playoffs. This is one of the crucial week 10 matchups I was talking about. The winner will move to 7-3 and will have an inside track to the postseason, as they will hold the tiebreaker since these teams only face off once against each other this season.

Bluth Company drops to 0-9 and is in line to pick up a stud player in next year's draft, like Jeanty, McMillan, Burden, or anyone Bluth is interested in snagging. Should be fun to watch. I still believe this team could have a Fergalicious-like comeback in 2025.

Speaking of Fergalicious...

Fergalicious (8-1) 188 vs My Team (3-6) 145.75

My Team's hot streak comes to an end. Not really to any fault of their own - as they had a good scoring game. Hard to beat a team that scores 188 though!

Fergalicious retakes first place in the Rad Dynasty with this scoring outburst. They are tied at 8-1 with Dynastic Dan - who they coincidentally play in week 10. That's the other big matchup I was talking about. The loser will drop to 8-2 and suddenly has to worry about being overtaken by ned, who has been great once again this year.

Speaking of ned...

ned's rollers (7-2) 160.15 vs TDs or Bust (6-3) 156.52

This was a great matchup between two teams at 6-2. Ultimately ned eeked out the win in a game that was back and forth all weekend long.

Ned finds himself just a game out of first, despite Fergalicious and Dynastic Dan dominating the regular season seemingly all year long. Ned has been hanging in there and will not go away.

It was a tough loss for Perry, but he hangs onto the #4 seed for now. Next week's matchup vs Alice will be huge, like I already said. Hyuuuuge!

Speaking of hyuuuuge....

Teflon Don (4-5) 143.56 vs Tbone's Terrific Team (4-5) 111.68

It's been a tough luck season for Teflon Don, but his playoff hopes haven't been completely dashed yet. This was a must win against TBone, and he took care of business. If he wants any chance to make the postseason, though, he HAS to win against ned in week 10. If he loses, it could be over. The league is very top heavy this year, and it is hard to see a team with 6 losses make the playoffs.

TBone's team continues its slide. This is now Timmy's 4th loss in a row after a 4-1 start. Luckily they play 1-8 BDB next week. Someone has to win that game, right?

Speaking of BDB...

Dynastic Dan (8-1) 166.55 vs BDB's Jet Setters (1-8) 133.51

This was a closer game than I thought it would be, as BDB's team blew past its projections by over 40 points. They may have had a chance if they had actually decided to take injured players like Stefon Diggs out of the starting lineup. It's looking like a lost season for BDB, who is normally very active and a good competitor. I don't know what's happening this season.

On the other side of things, Dynastic Dan is now 8-1 on the year tied with Fergalicious in the standings. That week 10 matchup is going to be so, so important for both teams. The winner is essentially a lock for the playoffs, while the loser could still fall out of the picture if things go downhill for their team. That would be just my luck.

Speaking of luck....

The Killing Fields (3-6) 127.49 vs Show me the TDs (4-5) 127.32

Show me the TDs has had some really bad luck this year. Fifth in the league in scoring, but they have given up the most points BY FAR in the league. And now this loss by 0.17 points. Ouch. I suppose a last minute stat adjustment could come in (that actually happened to me in another league a few weeks ago) but you cannot really count on that. Next week against My Team is an absolute must win for this team. Despite the 0-5 start to the season, My Team is no pushover.

The Killing Fields ekes out a win here. I had almost given up on this team for dead, but they've got a sliver of life left in them. They look to keep things going next week against 0-9 Bluth Company. No one wants to be the team that gives Bluth their first win, but it is going to happen at some point. I am thinking it could be here. But we shall see.

--

We'll end as always with a look at the standings. Should be a fun week 10, as four of the top five teams play against each other. At the bottom of the standings, the race for next year's #1 pick should be interesting. Winless Bluth has the inside track but BDB has been god awful and may just drop to the bottom by the end of the year.

I'd say you can draw a line underneath the 7th place team (Teflon Don) to separate the contenders from the pretenders. I'd be stunned if any one of those bottom five teams even came close to a playoff berth. Who will make the playoffs is still a tossup. It seems like the top three teams have the inside track, but anyone could go on a skid and anyone could get hot at any time.

One thing is for sure: every single game is essentially a playoff game from this point on. That's why I made it so only four teams make the postseason. This league is supposed to he difficult. Every game is supposed to matter. And from this point on, it is do or die for many of these contending teams. Six weeks left, who will make the top four?
