Week Eight Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.08)

We're officially past the halfway point in the Rad Dynasty regular season. 8 weeks down, 7 to go! Who will hang on for those coveted playoff spots? Right now it is still fairly wide open.

Let's start with the player of the week. It is Jonathan Taylor for Skattebo Doesn't Know! Taylor scored 3 touchdowns and had nearly 200 overall yards as he racked up 36.4 fantasy points for Mike's team. Our defending champ moves to 6-2 behind a monster year so far from Jonathan Taylor. Let's talk about that game...

Skattebo Doesn't Know (6-2) 160.16 vs ned's rollers (5-3) 132.96

This was an important game between the league's first two champions. These two teams came in tied in the standings. As it is their only meeting this year, Mike now holds the tiebreaker in case it comes down to a tie at the end of the year.

This was the first big let down game from Christian McCaffrey, as he only scored 8.3 points. Aside from Jalen Hurts and Javonte Williams, the rest of the team didn't do much either. While Mike's team gets the win, it comes at a cost as the titular Cam Skattebo exited the game with an injury and is likely out the rest of the year.

Next week is a big one for Mike's team as he takes on Scotty's 7-1 team. Ned goes head to head against Alice in Horns. Mike leads the all time season series against ned 3-0.

AR12 is Weird (7-1) 182.11 vs TDs or Bust (5-3) 115.33

What was expected to be a close battle between two of the better teams in the league ended up being a one sided affair. Scotty's team is now 7-1. This was a team that was abandoned by its previous manager and went 4-11 last year. Who would have thought that the turnaround would be so fast? This team is now just 1 win from clinching a winning record. If the playoffs started right now, they'd be the #2 seed.

TDs or Bust had a down week. Bijan, Isaiah Likely, and Quentin Johnston combined for 6.1 points. Drake Maye's 32 points were left on the bench. But none of that may have even mattered, because the opponent scored 182.11 points. Got to be nearly perfect to beat an output like that. If the playoffs started today, they'd be on the outside looking in. Perry has a good chance to bounce back next week against BDB, while Scotty has another tough matchup on the horizon against Skattebo Doesn't Know.

Scotty has tied the all time series against TDs or Bust at 2-2.

Show me the TDs (5-3) 143.02 vs Bluth Company (3-5) 127.98

This was an important game for both teams. If Bluth had won, they'd have just 4 losses and would be right behind all the 3 loss teams. This loss feels extra painful because now they sit 2 games back with 7 to go. Plus, they have tiebreakers to deal with. It was just as important for Show me the TDs, as a loss would have dropped them to 4-4, and out of the playoff picture. As it stands, Sean is tied with 2 other teams at 5-3 for that last playoff spot.

Bluth has the opponent on the horizon that everyone loves to see on their schedule: TBone. With any luck, he'll come out of next week 4-5. He's still got a chance. Show me the TDs has the second opponent everyone loves to see: My Team. This is a good chance to gain ground in the playoff picture.

Show me the TDs leads the all time series against Bluth 3-1.

Teflon Don (3-5) 147.39 vs Alice in Horns (3-5) 140.30

It's kind of sad to see two teams that I had such high hopes for struggling this year. Injuries have been brutal. They face a similar challenge to Bluth company in that they are both 3-5 and two games behind the 5 loss teams with only 7 left to play.

At least things are trending up with Teflon Don. This was his second straight win after a 1-5 start. He's got a tough matchup on the horizon. Our yearly brother vs brother matchup - and our only one this year. I always look forward to this game. Alice has a similarly tough matchup against ned. It's going to be a make or break game for both teams next week. A bunch of people should be rooting for Alice because a ned loss would drop him to 4 losses, and all the 5 loss teams would gain some ground.

Teflon Don is now 3-1 all time against Alice in the regular season in the Rad Dynasty.

Dynastic Dan (7-1) 189.22 vs TBone's Terrific Team (0-8) 70.32

This was a rough game. TBone was completely overmatched. This was my season high in points scored so far. And of course it is in a game where I completely don't need it. The 118.90 point victory is the current Rad Dynasty record holder for biggest blowout. So there's that.

Dan is now 4-1 all time against TBone. That one loss was the very first week in Rad Dynasty history - back in 2023. That's a little bit of trivia for you. With the loss, TBone has now dropped 18 games in a row. A streak that doesn't seem close to ending anytime soon. You basically have to show up and have a pulse to beat TBone. And he's got Bluth next week.

BDB's Jet Setters (3-5) 117.53 vs My Team (1-7) 104

This was the least exciting game of the week, as the two teams combined for only 221 points. My Team continues to disappoint, losing its 7th straight game after starting the season 1-0. BDB joins several other 5 loss teams that are clustered in the standings. It wasn't a very inspiring win - but hey a win is a win.

BDB now leads the all time series against My Team 2-1.

---

As always, we'll close with a look at the standings below. Me and Scotty are tied for first at 7-1. Mike is in control of the #3 seed. But after that is where it gets interesting. Three teams are tied for the #4 seed. Remember: this is the last season we'll have 4 playoff teams. Next year it expands to 6 teams making it. So that makes every remaining regular season game that much more important going forward. Just one loss could be devastating to any of these teams, except for the one loss teams. I can't wait to see what this week brings. Should be some good matchups. Our annual brother vs brother matchup. Alice against ned. 6-2 Mike against 7-1 Scotty. Can't wait to see how it unfolds!

Anyone remember this game?

Week Seven Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.07)

Alright, we're back to a full recap again. Week 7 is OVAH and now it is time to dish out the player of the week award. This award surprisingly goes to Bo Nix for Bluth Company. He had like 4 points at the end of three quarters, and then went on to score 4 fourth quarter touchdowns en route to 43.96 fantasy points. Good job Bo Nix and good job Bluth Company. He is now 3-4 and has won two in a row for the first time in nearly 2 years. Perhaps things are starting to turn around now.

Show me the TDs (4-3) 149.07 vs Dynastic Dan (6-1) 123.77

Well, my dreams of an undefeated season are officially over. I'm still winless against Sean's team; a combined 0-4 across 3 seasons now. I really thought I had it in the bag after Jamarr Chase's big Thursday night game. But no. It was a heavy bye week for Dynastic Dan. I over thought things and decided to go with Carson Wentz at QB against the Eagles defense, thinking he'd be good for at least 2 touchdown passes. Womp womp. Instead he only scored 10.32 points. Jaxson Dart, who I left on the bench, scored 34.42. It still wouldn't quite have been enough for a win, as I would have been 1 point short.

Show me the TDs overperformed by 24 points, as Trey McBride and his IDP had big games. Even with goose eggs from two different starters (Luke McCaffrey and Mike Evans) he still overperformed by this much. It was a bad week for me in all my fantasy leagues, as I went a combined 2-5 in my matchups - my first losing week in two years. In one league my opponent was projected to score 81 points, and he ended up scoring 167. That's more than double his projection, which I can honestly say I've never seen before. That's why I can't be too mad at this loss. I was never going to be undefeated. Might as well get it out of the way now during this shit week.

Show me the TDs moves above .500 with the win. It will be a tough matchup with Bluth Company next week, but it comes with a chance to move up in the standings. Dynastic Dan has the matchup everyone likes to see on their schedule next week: TBone. This should be a "get right" game, but you never know. TBone almost got his first win this week!

Alice in Horns (3-4) 117.06 vs TBone's Terrific Team (0-7) 116.96

Loss number 17 in a row for poor TBone. This one was as close as they possibly come. This may be the closest game I've seen, actually, coming down to a tenth of a point. One extra rushing yard by TBone and this is a tie game, which I've never seen in fantasy football in all my years. I'm sure ties happen, though. Has anyone here ever seen a tie? This game is a candidate to be affected by point adjustments, so I guess we'll have to keep an eye on things and see if the win stands.

As far as the actual game, it was a low scoring affair. Even though she won, Alice's team continues to struggle as it has been decimated by injuries. No way this is a close game if Burrow, Puka, and Bucky play. Alice faces Teflon Don next week in a must win game for two struggling teams.

Ned's rollers (5-2) 213.89 vs TDs or Bust (5-2) 158.93

This was a good game against possibly the league's two best teams. Ned was just too much in this one, though. The rest of the league messed up letting him get Christian McCaffrey. I had to double check to see if he set the single game scoring record, but no he was 5 points off. Ned is leading the league in scoring at the moment, and if the season ended today, he'd be averaging 166 points a game - which would be a Rad Dynasty record.

It wasn't a good matchup for Perry, but he can take solace in the fact that he would have beaten most teams this week. No one is beating anyone who scores 214 points. Things don't get any easier for either team next week, as Ned plays 5-2 Skattebo Doesn't Know, while Perry takes on Scotty's team, who is currently tied for first in the league at 6-1. Dang, next week is going to be big!

Bluth Company (3-4) 143.96 vs My Team 115.39 (1-5)

Another tough loss for My Team, as they seem to have given up on the season already. This team drafted well and was predicted by Yahoo to go 10-5 and make the playoffs. But that is probably assuming you are adjusting for injuries and byes - which My Team is not doing. Oh well, maybe they'll win 9 in a row and prove the haters wrong.

Bluth was led by player of the week Bo Nix. He's now 1-0 since trading away CMC. Kenneth Walker only scored 6.6 points at RB, and Dalton Kincaid didn't play. So it is a little early to see if this trade will work out or not. But as of now Bluth isn't out of it yet, and needs to go on a run to right the ship at .500. It's going to be a tough draw against Show me The TDs, but I think it will be one of the best matchups of week 8. On the other side of things, My Team will face off against BDB in a battle of two teams near the bottom of the standings. I think it's safe to say that whichever team loses that game is out of contention this season.

Teflon Don 170.54 (2-5) vs Skattebo Doesn't Know 153.09 (5-2)

Crix shows signs of life, knocking off defending champ Mike in a pretty high scoring affair. This was a must win for my brother as a loss would have dumped him to 1-6 and basically no shot of making the playoffs this year. It will still be hard to do with 5 losses already, but I'm a big believer in the random nature of fantasy football. I think anything can happen if his team gets hot. Oronde Gadsden had 25.9 points in this game. He's a guy I've been big on at TE as a rookie, so we'll see if this is his first game en route to stardom.

Next up on the docket for Skattebo Doesn't Know is ned, while Teflon Don takes on Alice.

AR12 is Weird (6-1) 137.59 vs BDB's Jet Setters (2-5) 121.55

This was a fairly close game. BDB gave Scotty a good fight, but it just wasn't meant to be. Scotty is now 6-1 after taking over this team, which went 4-11 last season. What a turnaround! Mahomes, Davante, and Swift combined for nearly 80 points in the win. Travis Hunter and Justin Herbert were the high scorers for BDB in the loss.

Scotty will look to keep the good times rolling in week 8 against fellow CapTellian TDs or Bust, while BDB has a very winnable game coming up against My Team.

---

An updated look at the standings. I was feeling lonely up at the top so I figured I'd let Scotty join me up here for a while. As far as the rest of the league, it is still anyone's game when it comes to nabbing one of the 4 playoff spots. Can't wait till next year when we expand to 6! As it stands right now, the TDs teams would be on the outside of the playoffs looking in.

I'll offer a reminder (in case anyone has forgotten) that if two teams finished tied in the standings at the end of the year, the tiebreaker is not points, but head to head standings. Only if there is a tie in the head to head record, or a tie among 3 or more teams, will points factor in. So for example - the graphic shows BDB in 10th behind 9th place Teflon Don. But because BDB leads the season series 1-0, he is actually in 9th right now and TD is in 10th. Just thought we needed a reminder of that.

Week Six Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.06)

You'll have to excuse me for this week's crappy recap. It's late night Wednesday and I still haven't written anything, so I'm just going to push this one out real fast. I have no motivation to write anything this week. Just been really busy. So I'm considering this my bye week.

Player of the week will go to Patrick Mahomes from AR12 Is Weird. Scotty moves to 5-1 this season, already surpassing his team's win total from last year when it went 4-11. And it was all thanks to Mahomes and his 37.48 fantasy points. Mahomes had 257 passing yards and 4 overall touchdowns in the Kansas City win.

So like I said, this will be a crappy recap. In fact, it won't even be much of a recap at all. I'm just going to post the scores from last week's games and also a look at the current standings and call it a wrap. See you next week when hopefully I am more motivated to write an in-depth look at things. I think I just needed a little break here in the middle of the season.

I guess I have to mention that this is TBone's 16th loss in a row. Will he ever win a game again? My other random observation is that it sucks Puka has been hurt. Alice and Teflon Don were teams I expected to make some noise this year, but have been absolutely wrecked with injuries. Nabers, Burrow, Puka, Godwin, Bucky Irving, Xavier Worthy, Daniels, etc. All have missed major time this season. Bluth has been hit hard with injuries too. And Show me the TDs. And me, too - with Egbuka going down, now. Depth is going to be important for all teams as we move forward.

Week Five Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.05)

Here is something I never thought I'd find myself writing: player of the week honors are going to CJ Stroud of the Houston Texans! He had 36.76 points for Bluth Company, passing for 244 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win over the Ravens. Right behind him was Dak Prescott with 36.28 points. He continues to blow up immediately after getting traded away by Teflon Don.

TDs or Bust (4-1) 134.07 vs TBone's Terrific Team (0-5) 107.33

Unfortunately Dak's big game was not enough to lift Tbone to a win. He now drops his 15th game in a row, which is obviously a league record (and counting) for futility. TBone is looking terrible so far. I would not be surprised if this team didn't win another game the rest of the season. The sad thing is that the team actually overperformed. If those 5 empty bye week spots had been filled, this team may have had a chance, considering they only lost by 27. I think in the offseason some reevaluation needs to be done here.

It was a down week for TDs or Bust. Which is weird to say considering they overperformed. It just feels like the score gap should have been bigger. Perry will have to adjust to the loss of Omarion Hampton at RB going forward. With the win, Perry moves to 25-10 overall in the regular season in The Rad Dynasty, which is the best record in the entire league. He is 5-0 all time against TBone.

Dynastic Dan (5-0) 156. 92 vs Bluth Company (1-4) 145.36

I finally got my first win against Bluth Company, and it was a very close game. I remember being at Farm & Fleet on Sunday with my kid while the games were going on, and looking at my phone and seeing the projection that I was going to lose 158 to 143. I really thought Bluth was going to continue his dominance over my team. But then things turned around, behind Emeka Egbuka and Jamarr Chase, who combined for nearly 58 points between the two of them.

It ended up being pretty close in the end, with me needing about 15 or 16 points from Josh Allen and James Cook combined on Sunday night in order to win. Cook underperformed, but I got enough from Allen for me to squeak out the win. I have a great shot to move to 6-0 next week as I've got slumping My Team on the horizon.

Skattebo Doesn't Know (4-1) 200.62 vs Show me the TDs (2-3) 169.79

Defending champ Mike continues his dominant stretch of play with the big win. He's now scored 200 points twice so far in just five games this season. He is right behind ned for total points scored so far this season. What is impressive is that this big win was pulled off without Lamar Jackson.

It is another tough luck loss for Show me the TDs. He would have beaten everyone but ned or Mike this week, and unfortunately the matchup was against Mike. He is the league leader so far in "Points Against" which is never somewhere you want to be. Next week against Alice is going to be a massive game for both teams.

Alice in Horns (2-3) 150.06 vs My Team (1-4) 101.92

Alice pulled off the easy win in this one. There is not much to say about this matchup. My Team just simply didn't show up. It was a bad performance up and down the board. Brock Bowers being ruled out didn't help, but even if he had a big game, this still would have been a blowout.

Kyren Williams was the real star of this matchup. He and Puka have really been going off for Alice this season. My Team faces off against Dynastic Dan next week. Alice faces off against Show me the TDs in a battle of really good 2-3 teams looking to stay afloat.

AR12 Is Weird (4-1) 123.67 vs Teflon Don (1-4) 112.29

These two teams have been the biggest surprises of the year so far. If you had asked me coming into this season, I would have thought these records would be opposite. I'll continue to praise Scotty for turning around an abandoned team. He's done a super admirable job so far, much better than I could have expected. Meanwhile, anything and everything has gone wrong for Teflon Don. I would have expected them to be in playoff contention at this point in the young season.

It doesn't get any easier next week as he takes on 4-1 Perry. Scotty also has a tough matchup against ned, who is also 4-1 and has the highest scoring team in the league so far this year. Fun note, Scotty now joins Alice and Show me the TDs as the only teams to have beaten every team in the league so far. He may not have been the manager those first two seasons, but those wins still count!

ned's rollers (4-1) 183.95 vs BDB's Jet Setters (2-3) 124.64

Speaking of ned, this team once again rolled over the opposition with another big win. Ned and Mike have taken over the #1 and #2 scoring lead in the league so far, with me right behind at #3. Javonte Williams and Rico Dowdle combined for nearly 60 points in this game. I'm sure everyone saw that coming, right?

Ned and BDB have now met 6 times overall (including playoffs) which I believe is the current record for "longest" rivalry. In those 6 games, ned is 4-2 against BDB. (EDIT: Skattebo Doesn't Know and Show me the TDs have also met 6 times - FYI). BDB looks to rebound from this current 2 game skid next week against similarly struggling Bluth Company. ned will match up against surprising AR12 Is Weird (formerly The Killing Fields) in a battle of 4-1 teams.

---

A look at the standings below. The 4 top highest scoring teams currently sit in playoff position, one through four, which rarely happens. So things are "as they should be" for the time being.

I'm still unbeaten at 5-0, but four teams sit right behind me at 4-1. A lot can happen in the final 10 games. Are things going to kind of sit tight as they are, or will we see a shakeup in the standings? Will TBone ever win a game? Can I go undefeated? Stay tuned.

Week Four Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.04)

This is going to be a quick recap because I'm fairly busy this week. You'll just have to deal with it.

Player of the week for week 4: the newly acquired Dak Prescott for team TBone. Dak's 4 touchdowns led to 36.96 fantasy points. Dak's heroics were nearly enough to lift TBone for his first win of the season, but alas - it was not meant to be.

Aaron Likes Jonnu's TE (3-1) 161.20 vs TBone's Terrific Team (0-4) 140.86

Why you gotta make me type out that crazy team name, man? I think I'll just refer to you as Scotty going forward, haha. But this was a surprisingly good matchup between two teams that finished near the bottom of the standings last year. Scotty survived in what was a closer matchup than the final score indicated. Dak nearly lifted TBone to the win in a game that went back and forth all weekend long. But Scotty was able to pull out the win behind Patrick Mahomes (35.3) and two crazy big IDP games from Jordyn Brooks (21) and Maxx Crosby (20.75).

TBone has now lost 14 games in a row going back to last season. There have been some close calls this year, but no luck breaking through.

Dynastic Dan (4-0) 162.16 vs BDB's Jet Setters (2-2) 137.42

While both teams overperformed, it was still a relatively large blowout for first place Dynastic Dan. I'm now 4-0 and looking good. I'm starting to worry about Jamarr Chase and Chase Brown though. These guys have really wilted with no Joe Burrow.

BDB is only 2-2 but has looked strong so far this season. He'll try to climb back above .500 again next week against ned.

Bluth Company (1-3) 156.29 vs Alice in Horns (1-3) 140.83

Bluth finally gets into the win column with one of the more surprising results of the week. Things really clicked for Bluth Company. This was the type of team performance I expected to see coming into the season. Maybe this marks the beginning of a turnaround? On the flip side, Alice's team has continued its stumble out of the gate. Alice was considered a strong contender at the beginning of the year. Key injuries to Joe Burrow and Nick Bosa have hurt the team. And now Bucky Irving looks like he might miss time too.

Alice has a good chance to rebound next week against struggling My Team - in what is a must win for each team. Bluth looks to continue his winning ways against first place Dynastic Dan. Bluth has never lost against me before, so I expect a challenging matchup ahead.

TDs or Bust (3-1) 194.97 vs Show me the TDs (2-2) 132.53

I always look forward to seeing when the two TD teams match up, but unfortunately this one was a real snoozer. This was one of those dominant performances from TDs or Bust where you just have no chance of winning. It's almost impossible to win when your opponent has 195 points.

TDs or Bust is looking like a team to beat after a rough start to the season. Perry looks to pad his record next week against in a game where he is a mammoth favorite. It's going to require a herculean effort from TBone to end his losing streak next week. On the other side of things, Show me the TDs has a challenging matchup against defending champ Mike. Tough luck for Sean as newly acquired Tyreek Hill left the game with a season ending injury immediately after Sean spent ALL his free agent money on him. That's super rough. It's been a tough year so far for this team, but I think they can turn it around. It is still super early. A win against the defending champ next week would go a long way.

Skattebo Doesn't Know (3-1) 129.43 vs My Team (1-3) 91.77

It was a less than stellar week for each team, as this was the lowest scoring matchup of the week. In fact, I think it may be the combined lowest scoring game of the year? A win is a win for Mike. Uncle Pete takes on Alice in a battle of 1-3 teams. The loser of that game is going to be in real rough shape.

ned's rollers (3-1) 152.05 vs Teflon Don (1-3) 123.81

Rough week and rough season so far for Teflon Don. AJ Brown continues to stink up the place and now Malik Nabers is out for the year and may miss time next year too. Yikes. I love Malik Nabers and he is one of my favorite NFL players. But now I'm glad my trade offer for him was turned down in the offseason! Jayden Daniels has been off and on injured, and now Brock Purdy is hurt just a week after Chris traded Dak Prescott away. And then Dak immediately blew up and had a massive game as the player of the week for TBone. Tough stretch of events here, but the future first he acquired in the trade is looking more and more like the 1.01 since TBone can't seem to win a game.

Ned has quietly been putting together a stellar season so far. It's only been 4 weeks, but he's looked every part the bit of a contending team. He is currently the second highest scoring team in the league. Ned won the 'ship in the inaugural season of The Rad Dynasty. He is more than capable of doing it again.

---

Again, sorry for the lackluster recap this week, but I have things to do and kids to raise. Here is a look at the standings. I love the cluster at the top of the standings. I'm 4-0, but four teams are right behind me at 3-1. Ned and Perry look like real contenders. Mike continues to win win win. Scotty has been super impressive taking over a dysfunctional team. The 2-2 teams are not out of it yet, as they are only one game out of second place - and there is still a LOT of season left. The 1-3 teams still have life, too. A 1-4 start can be hard to overcome. 2-3 sounds much better.

Here is to an interesting week 5, and good luck to you all.
