The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season Playoffs, Round 1 (3.16)

Round 1 of the playoffs has concluded. We are down to two teams: TDs or Bust (Perry) vs Dynastic Dan (me) for the championship. Before we talk about that, let's recognize Chase Brown and his 30.9 points as the player of the week in week one of the playoffs. Brown was a giant part in lifting me to the big win over ned.

This was an interesting player of the week, because non playoff players were not eligible. Otherwise Brock Purdy and his 40.9 would have been the winner. Matthew Stafford would have won it for TDs or Bust with his 36.88 points, but he was left on the bench. So it goes to Chase Brown, who edges out Christian McCaffrey by 1 point.

Dynastic Dan (1) 180.10 vs ned's rollers (4) 164.85

A good high scoring game to kick off the playoffs. Ned is a league legend, winning the title in year one and making the playoffs a second time this year. Perry is the only team to make the playoffs all three seasons. So making it twice is a great accomplishment. Ned was also the #1 scoring team in the regular season. Not your average #4 seed.

Luckily my team seems to save its best for when I play ned. I managed to beat ned all three times we played this season, and my point totals in those games were 180.67, 178.79, and 180.10. Which is well above what I normally score. And I did it without Josh Allen, who crapped the bed with 6.9 points. James Cook (25.9), Chase Brown (30.9), and De'Von Achane (16.5) were a 3-headed beast at RB. And my tight ends killed it too, as Pitts had 15.2 and Fannin had 18.25. Even my kicker Fairbairn got in on it with 16 points.

Sweeping ned in three games is something I consider a great accomplishment because of how great he is as an opponent. Hats off to him for being the ultimate Rad Dynasty professional. I fully expect him to be a contender once again next season.

TDs or Bust (3) 164.50 vs AR12 is Weird (2) 104.70

TDs or Bust (Perry) has been one of the most successful teams in the Rad Dynasty. They are the winningest team in the regular season, and have made the finals twice in three years. This win was fueled by Drake Maye (27.7) Bijan (26.3) and Jack Campbell (21.5). But they didn't even need all that, as Scotty's team completely failed to show up at all. It was a bad week to have your worst week of the season.

Hats off to Scotty for turning around such a neglected team, though. Now he's got a full year's cycle to make moves in the offseason and draft with clear team needs in mind. Maybe the team overperformed expectations but I wouldn't say it was a "fraud" by any stretch of the imagination.

--

Now that the dust has settled, it is time to look at the title match:

It is only fitting it comes down to these two teams. Perry is the guy who got me into fantasy and dynasty football to begin with. It's like the master meeting the apprentice. Of all the people in the league, me and him probably obsess over it the most. There's a reason I scheduled the match as a "rivalry week" back in week one.

The season series was remarkably close, with each team winning via a blowout. Not only did they split the series 1-1, but they were very close in the standings as well, separated by just 1 game in the win column and 31 in the points column. This final game is the rubber match in the series.

Overall, Perry trails the all-time regular season series 1-3. That one win came towards the end of the year in week 12, though. I truly feel this game could go either way.

When it comes to being a true dynasty in the Rad Dynasty, I feel like both these teams are on the cusp. My team is pretty solid, even stacked you may say. I think I've drafted well and made good trades. I should be good for a long time. But you can't be a dynasty if you don't win a title. You can't go 0-2 in championship games and consider yourself a dynasty.

You can say the same thing about TDs or Bust. He's the all-time winningest team in Rad Dynasty history. But again, you can't go 0-2 in title games and still be a dynasty.

Anyway, that's all I got for now. May the best team win. I hope it's me, but I'll be happy to put Perry in the Rad Dynasty record books as well. I truly feel like the two best teams are here in the title game. That's one of the reasons I had the playoffs at four teams these first three years. I wanted it to just be the best of the best at the end. And it has been. But I also want people to have fun and I want everyone to have a chance. It's no fun when you're out of contention with 5 games still left on the schedule. So I think moving to six next year is going to be great for everyone involved.

Including trades, here is the updated first round draft order:

1.01 My Team
1.02 Teflon Don (via TBone)
1.03 Teflon Don
1.04 BDB
1.05 Bluth
1.06 Alice
1.07 Skattebo Doesn't Know
1.08 Show me the TDs
1.09 Bluth (via ned)
1.10 AR12 is Weird

*final two teams subject to change*
1.11 Show me the TDs (via TDs or Bust)
1.12 Dynastic Dan

And if you are interested, I updated the post about everyone's all time records in the league. You can look at it HERE

Week Fifteen Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.15)

The regular season comes to a close. We are locked in and ready for the playoffs to begin. Our last player of the week for the regular season is Bo Nix for Bluth Company. He had 37.08 points for Bluth Company. Unfortunately it was not enough to lift Bluth to a win in the season finale. Fun note: the players of the week could have been Trevor Lawrence (54.30) or Kyle Pitts (40.10) but both players were left on the bench by their managers.

Observations from each game:

Me vs My Team: this was a game where I felt I was okay with winning or losing. It's not like My Team has been much of a threat this season. Winning would pretty much lock me into a matchup with ned, who always has my number in the playoffs, so I went with an experimental lineup. Would you look at that? It ended up working out for me anyway. I seems like I haven't had a boom week in a while. And that was even with Rome Odunze with a zero in my lineup because he was ruled out at the last possible moment before kickoff (I was in a car driving to Madison, WI at the time and didn't see the notification). And imagine if I'd started Kyle Pitts and his 40 points! I'm not looking forward to my matchup with ned in the playoffs though.

Alice vs Bluth: Nice to see Alice go out with a win. This game had no playoff implications, but with the loss, Bluth moves up to the 1.05 in next year's draft instead of the 1.06.

Skattebo vs BDB: Another game with no playoff implications. Tough luck for team Mike, as he was in the top of the standings for over half the season before losing a few games at the end. Next year, this team would be in the playoffs as the 6th seed.

ned vs Teflon Don: a surprisingly good game, but ned gets the expected win. Teflon Don will come into next season with the 2nd and 3rd pick in the draft. Ned plays me in the first round of the playoffs. Even though I swept ned in the regular season, it is likely going to be a tough matchup for both teams.

Battle of the TDs: It was nice to see Sean come out on top but unfortunately due to getting swept by ned in the regular season, he misses out on the tiebreaker and ned goes into the postseason. It all comes back to that DJ Moore fumble on the last play of the game in week 1. If that doesn't happen, the roles are reversed. The loss drops Perry all the way down to the #3 seed (loses tiebreaker to Scotty).

AR12 vs TBone: Scotty needed to win this game to clinch a playoff berth, and he was able to come out on top over TBone, who has been winning some games lately. If Scotty had lost, that would have dropped him into a 3 way tie with Sean and ned, and he would have lost the tiebreaker based on points scored and missed the playoffs.

My bold predictions are Ned and Perry going to the finals. I do not feel confident about my team at all. I think Scotty could also pull off a big win. He did win the only matchup against Perry in the regular season. So technically he has the #2 seed and Perry is the #3 - despite what Yahoo says. It doesn't change the playoff matchup so I am not going to change it manually.

Final standings according to Yahoo:

But using the tiebreaker rules, here are the real final standings:
1 Dynastic Dan
2 AR12 is Weird (won season series with TDs or Bust 1-0)
3 TDs or Bust
4 Ned (swept show me the TDs)
5 Show me the TDs
6 Skattebo Doesn't Know
7 Alice (split season series, but scored more points than Bluth)
8 Bluth
9 BDB (swept Teflon Don)
10 Teflon Don
11 TBone
12 My Team

This is also the reverse draft order (starting at My Team with the first pick). Now, for those who want to know how the first round will go next year, look at this below. I mapped out the first round, with trades included:

First round order:
1.01 My Team
1.02 Teflon Don (via TBone)
1.03 Teflon Don
1.04 BDB
1.05 Bluth
1.06 Alice
1.07 Skattebo Doesn't Know
1.08 Show me the TDs

If the final regular season standings were also the final playoff standings*:
1.09 Bluth (via ned)
1.10 Show me the TDs (via TDs or Bust)
1.11 AR12 is Weird
1.12 Dynastic Dan

*subject to change

Just keep in mind, we won't know where the playoff teams will land in the draft order. For the two eliminated teams in round one, we go with the head to head tiebreaker. So if me and Scotty were both to lose in the first round, Scotty would get the better pick (the 1.09) because he lost the season series to me 1-0.

Also a note to eliminated teams: your rosters have been locked in Yahoo. I will now add your taxi players to your roster on my personal spreadsheet - which I will make public once the season is over. You will have your entire roster as it is now, plus your taxi player, to hang onto for the entire offseason. You don't need to trim down to 15-20 until the 10 days leading up to the draft, which will take place (per tradition) on the 1st Sunday in August.

So you have a LOT of time to mull over who you want to keep or cut. You can also use that time to wheel and deal with fellow managers and pull off some trades. Also a reminder that unused FAB will carry over to next season, where you will also be given a fresh $100.

I'll be making a complete "here is how the offseason works" post after the season ends.

Good luck to everyone in the playoffs and the consolation bracket. The consolation bracket counts for nothing, so don't worry about trying to tank it for a better draft pick, lol.

Week Fourteen Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.14)

Week 14's player of the week is Josh Allen for Dynastic Dan. He scored 4 touchdowns and had 43.84 fantasy points in Buffalo's win over Cincinnati. Unfortunately, Allen's heroic performance couldn't lift me to a victory, as the rest of my team fizzled out in a loss to Alice.

This was a week of parity, as we saw a handful of upset wins. Alice's win over Dynastic Dan was a big one. Alice has nothing left to play for this year, while I am fighting for the top seed in the playoffs. Unfortunately, this loss drops me to #2 in the standings for the first time in what seems like 2 seasons. Remember how I said in my last recap that I didn't like my team this year, and that I was worried I'd be one and done in the playoffs? It's this kind of performance, which is becoming all too common for my team, that makes me think that. Hats off to Alice though for avenging her loss in the playoffs last year. This win breaks an overall 4 game losing streak to Dynastic Dan (playoffs and regular season).

Another big upset was TBone knocking off ned. Remember, TBone started 0-9 this season. They've won three of their last five games to right the ship a little bit. Won't make the playoffs this year obviously, but things look a lot brighter for TBone going into year 4 of the league next season. On the flip side, this was a potentially devastating loss for ned. He is still the #4 seed in the playoffs, but barely. He holds both the points and head to head tiebreakers against Show me the TDs, but HAS to win against Teflon Don in week 15, or he is out. If he wins, he's in. Must be a frustrating game for ned, as he had the win in the bag until Jalen Hurts's last minute interception cost him two points. He ended up losing by less than two. And he forgot to put a defensive lineman in, too. Coulda woulda shoulda been a win for ned.

Another upset: Bluth against Skattebo Doesn't Know. This loss knocks defending champ Mike out of playoff contention. Bluth has quietly put together a competitive season, marred by a few ugly losses. Bluth will most benefit out of anyone from the expanded playoff field next season. I think he turns it around. On the flip side, we won't see Mike winning this season. Still no repeat champs in the Rad Dynasty. I think if ned wins the title, he can be considered the first true dynasty in the league, with titles in 2 of the first 3 seasons of the league. Otherwise, if Dan or Perry win, it could signal the start of their dynasties. They've already been dominating the regular season in this league. It seems like one of these teams is due to win it all this year.

You can't really consider this game an upset, because Sean was favored to score more points, but Show me the TDs took down #3 seeded AR12 is Weird. It would still take a miracle for Scotty to miss the playoffs, but Sean's hopes are still alive. He needs to win next week and hope for a ned loss. Or hope for a win, a ned win, and a Scotty loss. This would create a 3 way tie where he would have the chance to edge out Scotty based on points. I guess we'll see what happens. Sean has TDs or Bust on the horizon, and he's been one of the toughest teams in the league for the entire duration of it.

There were two relatively uneventful games: TDs or Bust's annihilation of My Team and BDB's win over Teflon Don.

A look at the standings shows TDs or Bust and Dynastic Dan locked into the playoffs, currently with the #1 and #2 seeds. This is still subject to change though. Week 15 is going to determine a lot. Will ned or Sean make it in? Will Scotty drop out of the playoffs completely? What matchups will we be left with? What will the draft order look like?

If the season were to end today, the order would look like:
1.01: My Team
1.02: Teflon Don (via TBone)
1.03: BDB
1.04: Teflon Don
1.05: Alice
1.06: Bluth
1.07: Skattebo
1.08: show me the TDs (swept by ned)
1.09 to 1.12: (order undetermined) Dynastic Dan, AR12 is Weird, Show me the TDs (via TDs or Bust), Bluth (via ned).

One more week to go before it is playoff time!

Week Thirteen Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.13)

Here I am once again waiting until Wednesday night/Thursday morning to quickly throw a recap together before week 14 starts. This will probably be another short one. Let's start by giving props to player of the week Patrick Mahomes for AR12 is Weird. Mahomes had 37.44 fantasy points, leading Scotty to a win in his matchup and a 10-3 overall record. Good job! It seems like the player of the week awards have been really spread out this year, as opposed to last year when it was either Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, or Ja'Marr Chase winning every week. Should make the Rad MVP Fantasy MVP award awfully hard to hand out.

Implications for each game:

Dynastic Dan becomes the first team to clinch a playoff berth with the win. Even if I was to lose my last 2 games, the worst I could do is four losses. So yay good job to me. This was a rematch of last year's title game. Mike is going to be hard pressed to repeat as he now has five losses, and will need some back luck from the teams above him in the standings if he wishes to make the postseason.

Alice and BDB's game didn't have any implications, as both teams are eliminated already.

Perry's win over Bluth didn't have too many implications either. Bluth had already been eliminated, and Perry is as close to clinching a playoff berth as you can get. All he pretty much has to do is beat 2-11 My Team next week and he is in.

My Team vs AR12 is Weird: not many implications either. It helps solidify Scotty's position as a postseason team. He essentially just has to win one more game and he's in. And one of his last two games is against TBone.

Ned's win against Show me the TDs. Now this game had implications. This was a devastating loss for Sean's team. With two games left, he is in the same boat as Skattebo Doesn't Know. He needs major bad luck from the teams above him to have a chance. He does have a chance to gain a game on Scotty, as he is matched up against him next week.

Teflon Don's win against TBone only really mattered as far as draft positioning. Teflon Don has TBone's first rounder next year, so he is probably hoping TBone finishes last. But in order for that to happen, TBone has to lose out, and My Team has to win one of its last two games. Hmm what will happen?

Please behold the updated standings:

I'm not feeling too great about being in first. I've given up the fewest points in the league so far, and I am worried that my luck is going to run out the second the postseason starts. If the season ended today, I'd be facing off against Ned. I would not feel comfortable with that matchup at all. No matter who plays who in the postseason, it is going to be a tough match.

If things stand as they are Scotty, Perry, and Ned will likely be clinching soon. Mike and Sean have outside chances at making the playoffs, but they really needed to win their matchups this week. They would have been in charge of their playoff fates. Now they need other teams to win to help them out. And they need to win out too. I haven't looked to see how the tiebreakers at the top shake out, but their best bet is ned losing one of his last two games. I guess we'll see how this week goes!

At the bottom of the pile, however, there are some great examples here of how I do head to head tiebreakers. This is how the first round of the draft would go (minus the playoff teams) if the season ended today:

first round:
#1: My Team (lost season series to TBone 0-1)
#2: Teflon Don (pick acquired from TBone)
#3: BDB (lost season series to Alice 0-2)
#4: Alice
#5: Teflon Don (lost season series to Bluth 0-1)
#6 Bluth
#7: Show me the TDs (tied season series with Skattebo Doesn't Know at 1-1, has fewer points scored)
#8: Skattebo Doesn't Know

#9, 10, 11, 12: ??? between Dynastic Dan, AR12 is Weird, Bluth, and Show me the TDs

Bluth owns ned's first round pick (acquired in McCaffrey trade)
Show me the TDs owns TDs or Bust's first round pick (acquired in Justin Jefferson trade)

So Teflon Don, Bluth, and Show me the TDs all have two first rounders next year. Great ammo for these guys to really refuel their teams. After the season ends, I'll be doing my usual offseason tracker of draft picks and who has whose picks. That'll make things a little less confusing if your eyes glazed over reading all this.

But I really hope you all are getting a hang of Dynasty and how this works as we near the end of year 3. Some of you are dynasty vets so I know you get it. But for those who this is their first dynasty league (and there are a lot of you) hopefully you're beginning to get the flow of it now.

And I want to make the offseason even easier to understand. This year when the year ends, I am immediately going to put your taxi player on your roster. You remember the taxi players, right? You picked one before the start of the season? Well, you are getting them back. They won't count against your roster limit either.

I am not going to enforce any "you must cut down to 20 players by xxx date" rules this time. I'm going to give you the entire offseason to hang onto all your players so you can make any trades you want. Assuming you have a fully rostered team with 25 players, 2 players on IR, and your taxi pick (who I'll put back on your team manually) that would give you 28 players to work with in the offseason. You may not have access to Yahoo in the offseason, as they often shut down when there is no fantasy football taking place, but I will manually track everyone's rosters and draft picks on a spreadsheet that I share with you, as I normally do.

Ten days before the draft (which will always be on the first Sunday of August) I will hit everyone up with the "you must trim down to between 15 and 20 players" message. That's when you'll finally have to trim down to meet roster requirements before the draft. But aside from that, you'll have the whole offseason to work with your players and wheel and deal and make draft moves. Theoretically, I could trade 5 players and a draft pick to one team for just one draft pick. So they'd have 33 players and I'd have 23 (assuming each team started with 28). And that would be totally fine. You don't have to trim down to the 15-20 requirement until the 10 day period before the draft. Like I said, you have the WHOLE offseason to wheel and deal your players.

And everyone is in the group text this year so hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more deals in the offseason. That's all I am going to talk about next year until more near the end of the season, so hit me up if you have questions.
