The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Three Recap

It finally happened! I'm in first place! My life is now complete. I will never reach a higher point in life than this. And it is all thanks to player of the week Josh Allen. He wins this honor for the second time in three weeks this season. He threw for 263 yards and 4 TDs, while earning 38.92 fantasy points. He has to be the front runner for fantasy MVP, at least after 3 games. Fun fact: Jauan Jennings would have been player of the week with his 41 fantasy points, but alas - he was left on the bench by ned.

I supposed we can dive right into my matchup, as it was a battle between unbeatens.

Dynastic Dan (3-0) 159.32 vs Alice in Horns (2-1) 136.16

I always look forward to my matchups with Alice, as she is an excellent competitor. We both came into the game 2-0 and with first place on the line. It was a back and forth battle. Originally I was favored to win big, and then Alice's team mounted a giant comeback behind Kyren Williams (30.6), DK Metcalf (18.4) and Alvin Kamara (14.2) - along with a quiet Sunday from Dan's big names. De'von Achane and Garrett Wilson underperformed, while Mark Andrews continued his horrible season with a goose egg. Going into Monday's action, the score was essentially tied. It was all going to come down to Monday night's games.

Enter Josh Allen. His massive output, combined with Ja'Marr Chase's 26.8 points, both pushed Dynastic Dan over the top. Joe Burrow had a good game with 31.36 points, but a bunch of those points were to Chase, which made it harder for Alice to pull off the win.

Dynastic Dan moves to 3-0 and, as I mentioned before, into first place for the first time ever in the Rad Dynasty. He'll look to get his first victory ever over The Killing Fields next week, in the first of their two matchups this season. Alice looks to rebound against last place (and the lowest scoring team in the league) Bluth Company.

Let's talk about them next.

Teflon Don (1-2) 179.76 vs Bluth Company (0-3) 84.65

Bluth Company's nightmare start continues with a shockingly bad loss to Teflon Don. Both teams came into this game without a win, but only one of them would be leaving with a 95 point victory - and it wouldn't be Bluth Company. Is that the biggest margin of victory in the history of the league? I just checked the record book and it sure is. Things just keep getting worse and worse for poor Bluth Company.

My brother Chris not only earns his first win of the season, he was also the highest scoring team of the week. Turns out he didn't even need the massive scoring outburst because Bluth Company was so bad. The leading scorers for Teflon Don were Dak Prescott (33.86), Malik Nabers (24.2), and Dallas Goedert (23.25). Several other players also scored in double figures.

The numbers weren't quite so gaudy for Bluth Company. Only two offensive players scored in double figures: CJ Stroud (who underperformed with 11.8 points) and Drake London (15.7). Bluth's team was riddled with bad performances, such as Gus Edwards (0.9), Dalton Schultz (2.1), and two goose eggs - one from Ja'Tavion Sanders and one from Rashid Shaheed.

Things do not get easier for Bluth Company next week, as they face off against Alice. Teflon Don also draws a tough matchup against TDs or Bust.

Fergalicious (3-0) 141.98 vs ned's rollers (2-1) 94.04

This was the week's second matchup of unbeaten teams. Ned came into this game in first place, while Fergalicious was trying to stake claim as the most surprising team of the season. Remember last year when they started 0-7? I'm going to keep bringing that up, especially if the team keeps winning. This win in particular was impressive, against the reigning champ. And it was not even close.

Ned picked a bad time to have probably his worst offensive output ever in this league. Chris Godwin (14.3) and Dalton Kincaid (11.6) were the only two players to significantly overperform. The rest of the team had a dud week. Except for Jauan Jennings, who scored 41 on ned's bench.

Fergalicious was led by Lamar Jackson (27.98), Jonathan Taylor (26), and Austin Ekeler (12.7). A ton of other players had double figures, too. A great all around performance from Fergalicious.

Next week ned looks to get back in the win column against My Team, one of the worst teams in the league. Fergalicious has a tough battle against Show me the TDs.

TDs or Bust (2-1) 131.69 vs TBone's Terrific Team (2-1) 106.8

There is not much to say about this matchup. TBone is undefeated, but let's be real - this is the first time he is facing actual competition. It probably wasn't the big blowout that TDs or Bust was looking for, but a win is a win either way.

The running back trio of Breece Hall, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Bijan Robinson combined for 44.8 points for TDs or Bust. He also had a nice game from his IDP. On the flip side, Perry did not get much out of his quarterback, wide receivers, or tight ends - which could be a cause for concern going forward.

Derrick Henry (29.9) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (18.25) kept TBone in the game, but Kirk Cousins and Tyreek Hill's duds cost the team the game. TBone's tight end situation was shockingly bad, with Juwan Johnson and Durham Smythe combining for 0.8 points. Pat Freiermuth - out of the flex for some reason, had 5.3 points. The end of Timmy's bench is looking quite grim. Hopefully TBone can make some savvy moves, otherwise this is a team that looks like it is going to be in rebuild mode for quite some time.

Next week will be pivotal for both teams. TDs or Bust has a hyuuuge game against Teflon Don. TBone looks to stay above .500 against struggling BDB. Although BDB did not struggle in week 3.

BDB's Jet Setters (1-2) 163.81 vs Show me the TDs (1-2) 129.2

This is the blowout that no one saw coming. It may be even more surprising than Fergalicious destroying ned. BDB came into this game 0-2 and only averaging about 105 points per game. They absolutely exploded in this one, dropping hopeful playoff contender Show me the TDs to 1-2.

I am starting to lose steam with these write ups and I really need to go to bed. So I am speeding things up. Hope you don't mind. Saquon had 31.6 for BDB's team, while Zach Charbonnet (26.7) was the high scorer for Show me the TDs.

The Killing Fields (1-2) 121.48 vs My Team (0-3) 98.21

The Killing Fields finally gets into the win column this season. This is a game they needed to win if they wanted to stay alive and not fall so far back right out of the gates. Cole Kmet (20.7) was the high scorer for TKF. Rashee Rice (23.1), Devin Singletary (16.8), and Terry McLaurin (18) tried to will My Team to victory, but their efforts were not enough. Hard to win when you leave two injured players (Mixon and Kittle) in the lineup, leading to two goose eggs. And a bunch of bench warmer IDP in the lineup as well. My Team has consistently given the least effort in the league, and is a candidate to get replaced next season. I hate to say that because it is my uncle Peter and I really want him to be dedicated and stick around. But this is bad for the competitive balance of the league.

---

As always, I will close things out with a look at the standings. For the first time ever, I gaze upon myself in first place. 3-0 feels good, especially considering I haven't played any "layup" teams. My schedule has been tough. I guess I will enjoy it while I can.

Fergalicious is right behind me at 3-0, while a handful of other teams occupy the 2-1 and 1-2 spots. My Team and Bluth Company sit at 0-3. Bluth Company's bad start looks especially bad when you see they are being outscored by nearly 50 points by My Team, who doesn't seem to even be trying this season. Ouch.

Anyway, I hope you are enjoying these recaps. Even when I take small shots and barbs at people's teams and their performances, I am doing it with love. All of you are great and I want to thank you for making this such a fun thing for me to obsess over.

The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Two Recap

Week two of the Rad Dynasty is over and done. Time to look back for a quick recap of events. Player of the week goes to Alvin Kamara, who scored 43 fantasy points for Alice in Horns. He rushed for 115 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. The big game helped propel Alice to a win in her matchup against a feisty My Team. Good job, Alvin Kamara. And good job Alice.

So, week two. What a time to be alive. This has been a wild fantasy season, to say the least. I've never seen anything like it with the enormous number of injuries mounting, resulting in some of the worst offensive outputs I've seen. So many big names are out of action or on the IR already.

Let's get right into it with Alice's win, since we were already talking about it.

Alice in Horns (2-0) 157.76 vs My Team (0-2) 125.58

My Team drops to 0-2 with the loss, but they put up a pretty good fight. The final score may not reflect it, but it was a close matchup most of the week. Calvin Ridley (22.7), Rashee Rice (16), and George Kittle (17.1) led the way. Unfortunately he needs more points from his kicker and IDP, as they combined to score only 21 points.

How did Alice's team perform this week? We already talked about Alvin Kamara and his 43 points. He was the difference maker in this game. DK Metcalf (23.9), Joe Burrow (21.22), and Rhamondre Stevenson (16) put the icing on the cake. Alice moves to 2-0 with the win, and will face off against me (Dynastic Dan) next week in a battle of 2-0 teams.

Dynastic Dan (2-0) 150.31 vs TDs or Bust (1-1) 137.99

This was a heck of a game between two heavyweights in this league. The guys who eat, sleep, and breathe dynasty fantasy football: Dan and Perry. Fun fact: Perry is the one who introduced me (Dan) to fantasy football back in 2018. I had never played it before, but he convinced me to join a workplace league. I instantly found that I enjoyed it, even though it stressed me out. I only played in that one workplace league for several years, until I finally branched out and started joining other fantasy football leagues. Now I am totally obsessed, and I am currently in 9 of them.

Now that the history lesson is out of the way, I'll talk about the matchup. Both teams came in 1-0, and were 1st and 2nd in scoring, respectively. Things started out with a bang for Dynastic Dan, as De'Von Achane (26) and James Cook (28) exceeded expectations and put the team ahead big time after the Thursday night game. Things looked grim for Dynastic Dan early on Sunday's action, however, as many of his big time performers failed to produce. Garrett Wilson (8.2), Josh Allen (11.76), JaMarr Chase (5.5), Mark Andrews (7.1) and Jaylen Waddle (6.5) massively underperformed. Meanwhile, Perry's IDP were just having mammoth games, combining for 60 points - 25.5 of them from Aidan Hutchinson. Dynastic Dan was predicted by Yahoo to lose by 20 plus points. I remember being so mad that I had wasted such great running back performances from Achane and Cook.

But then TDs or Bust underperformed, too. Dawson Knox (0), Sam LaPorta (2.3), and George Pickens (3.9) had terrible games. It was the Rams game that really cemented it, however, as Matthew Stafford (6.64) and Cooper Kupp (5.7) had bad games and totally blew it for team Perry. Things swung back in Dynastic Dan's favor. It was double the pain for TDs or Bust, as Cooper Kupp, who he just acquired in a trade before the season, was injured and landed on the IR. On a dynasty note - top prospect Marvin Harrison Jr had a big game, scoring 27 fantasy points, including two touchdowns in the first quarter. Too bad he was on Dynastic Dan's bench.

Perry had a chance to come back on Monday night, down by 24 points. He had Bijan and Dynastic Dan had Kyle Pitts. It came uncomfortably close in the end, especially with Pitts having a bad game, but Dan pulled out a squeaker that was closer than the final score indicates.

This is the first and only time these two teams play each other this season.

Show me the TDs (1-1) 144.55 vs Teflon Don (0-2) 130.92

This was a pretty close game throughout the week as well. I remember seeing that Teflon Don was favored big at one point. But it was a back and forth affair that resulted with Show me the TDs doing just enough to win at the end. It's a tough luck loss for my brother Chris. I have to admit I was rooting for him and I hate that he is 0-2, because his team is so much better than that. But it was a well-earned win for Show me the TDs. Great job!

The injury bug majorly impacted this game. On Show me the TDs side, Tua (6.5) left the Thursday night game with a concussion and is now on IR. Deebo Samuel is on IR now too, but at least he left on a good game with 14 points. Justin Jefferson (21.3) had a 97 yard touchdown catch, but also had an injury scare. This is a pretty banged up team, and it is only week 2. Luckily Josh Jacobs, Trey McBride, and the IDP showed up to play for Show me the TDs.

Teflon Don also had some bad injury luck. AJ Brown and Evan Engram were ruled out pre-game. Rachaad White got injured and only scored 2.8 points. IDP Deforest Buckner got hurt and left with 1 point. Chris had to do some major maneuvering - and you know what? He almost made it work. Malik Nabers (23.7), JK Dobbins (19.6), and Chris Olave (12.05) all exceeded expectations. Unfortunately it just was not enough in the end. The team falls to 0-2, and heads into week 3 against another surprise 0-2 team, Bluth Company. Someone's due for their first win of the season!

Speaking of Bluth Company...

TBone's Terrific Team (2-0) 132.94 vs Bluth Company (0-2) 98.05

Raise your hand if you would have predicted that Tbone would be 2-0 after two games, and that Bluth Company would not only be 0-2, but the lowest scoring team in the league by a wide margin.

Amon-Ra St Brown (18.65), Derrick Henry (16.1), Kirk Cousins (21.54), and Brian Robinson (14.1) had big games for Tbone in the win. TBone also had a strong performance from his kicker and IDP.

Nothing went right for Bluth Company for the second straight week. Injuries are a problem, with Tee Higgins, Christian McCaffrey, Josh Downs, TJ Hockenson, and Jonathan Brooks all out of action. Terrell Bernard got hurt and left the game with 2.5 points. Everyone underperformed up and down the roster. Only 4 players scored in double figures: CJ Stroud (16.3), Drake London (14.4), and then the kicker and an IDP player. It was just an ugly performance, with the lowlight being Christian Kirk and his .4 point performance.

I empathize with a team like Bluth stumbling out of the gates like this. This is a team that made aggressive trades in the offseason to bolster its draft capitol and load up on picks. But injuries and poor play seem to have put this team into a rebuild mode far quicker than expected. It's still not too early for this team this year, though. A good place to rebound would be in week 3 against 0-2 Teflon Don - another injury riddled team. As I said before, someone has to win their first game.

ned's rollers (2-0) 187.77 vs The Killing Fields (0-2) 140.44

Defending champ ned continues to steamroll his way through this league. He has not lost a game in a very long time. Jalen Hurts (25.82), Chris Godwin (22.45), Ceedee Lamb (18.25), Jordan Mason (16.9), Isiah Pacheco (13.6), JSN (17.7), Jesse Bates (20), Fred Warner (25.25) all had giant games. That's how you nearly get to 200 points. You're not going to lose when you put up this kind of performance. Even ned cannot avoid the injury bug, though, as Jordan Addison and Keenan Allen missed week 2. Also, Pacheco and Marshawn Lloyd have been put on IR.

The Killing Fields put up a terrific fight, but falls to 0-2 despite putting up a point total that would have beaten 6 other teams this week. Davante Adams (21.5), James Conner (18.9), and his kicker and IDP put up giant point totals - which is exactly what they did last year. It was not enough, though, as they drop to 0-2. They have a good chance to get in the win column in week 3 with a matchup of fellow winless team, My Team.

  Fergalicious (2-0) 166.88 vs BDB's Jet Setters (0-2) 85.05

Fergalicious continues to impress with another big win. They are now 2-0 tied for first place after two weeks. BDB struggled big time in this game and are now 0-2 after putting together a bad performance that was nearly a historically bad one.

Fergalicious has a solid lineup, led by Devonta Smith (17.1), Lamar Jackson (18.38), Nico Collins (23.5), Jonathan Taylor (14.5), Austin Ekeler (10), and Hunter Henry (14.9). This team has a strong kicker and IDP, too. It may not be the most "sexy" fantasy lineup - but they get points. I think Fergalicious is here to stay, and I would not be surprised to see them contend for a playoff spot. Next week's matchup against fellow 2-0 team ned's rollers is going to be good.

Not much to get excited about on the other side of things. BDB was led by Saquon Barkley (15.6) and Travis Etienne (13.3). Everyone else was bad - with Cade Otton and his negative 0.4 point performance being the low point. Underperformances up and down the lineup, most notably the IDP, who were ghastly with their combined 9.25 points. Offseason acquisition CJ Mosley was hurt in this one, as well.

Recap done!

This took me so long to write this week. Next week you are getting a short one. Now for a look at the standings. Ned sits at the top with Dynastic Dan right behind him. I thought for sure I was going to get to enjoy the first time I was in 1st place in this league, but ned passed me with points scored with his 188 point outburst. Fergalicious and Alice round out the top four. TBone sits in fifth with his surprise 2-0 record. The two TDs teams are tied at 1-1. The rest of the field is 0-2. with Bluth Company in last with his 180 points scored combined after the first two games.

The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season, Week One Recap

The long wait has ended: The Rad Dynasty is officially back in action. Week one was an unpredictable, up and down affair for many teams. It was a week filled with unfortunate injuries, some disappointing play from big players, some big weeks from surprise players, and a LOT of points left on the bench for many teams.

Before we get to the recap, let's crown our player of the week: Josh Allen for Dynastic Dan! I finally get a player of the week for my team, go me! Hopefully it is a sign of good things to come. What is funny is that Baker Mayfield outscored Josh Allen in fantasy, but was left on My Team's bench. Oh well. As a result, Allen takes home the honors with his 35.18 fantasy points. Allen overcame a slow start to throw for 2 touchdowns and rush for 2 more in Buffalo's win over Arizona. He also was a big part in propelling Dynastic Dan to his first 1-0 start ever.

Dynastic Dan (1-0) 160.88 vs Teflon Don (0-1) 125.61

Week 1 kicked off with a battle of the Rad brothers, with Dynastic Dan and Teflon Don squaring off against each other.

Things started out in a promising fashion for Teflon Don, as Mark Andrews only scored 2.4 points in the Thursday night game, allowing Teflon Don to take an early lead. And then AJ Brown had a big Friday night game with 20.4 points. Teflon Don was up big. Things looked even worse for Dan early Sunday, as Josh Allen had negative points after the first quarter of his game and Jaylen Waddle left his game early due to an injury. The rest of the team was off to a slow start as well. Dan, who had been predicted to score 150+ points, was now predicted by Yahoo to only score 115 or so. I thought to myself: SIGH, here we go again. Don't you just love fantasy football?

But then Dan's team suddenly kicked itself into overdrive. Achane had a big game, Josh Allen scored 4 touchdowns. Jaylen Waddle came back and had a nice game. The biggest surprise was linebacker TJ Edwards scoring 22.25 points. All of a sudden, Dynastic Dan was finishing higher than their predicted average.

The promising start quickly crumbled away for Teflon Don. Dak Prescott, Evan Engram, and Chris Olave combined for a total of 16.56 points during the Sunday games. Ouch. They were simply not going to recover from that.

With the win, Dynastic Dan moves to 3-0 all time against his brother Chris. Dan will take on TDs or Bust in what should be the game of the week in week two, while Chris will look to rebound against Show me the TDs.

Alice in Horns (1-0) 120.21 vs The Killing Fields (0-1) 109.89

This is one of the matchups I was most looking forward to this week. These two teams finished tied in the standings last year. They even went 1-1 against each other during the regular season. This year, they seem to have pretty evenly matched rosters, so I was curious to see how it would play out.

It ended up as a pretty close game. Alice was led by Alvina Kamara (19.5), David Montgomery (15.8), and Tyrel Dodson (15). Alice's 11 point win probably should have been bigger, but Joe Burrow (8.06), DK Metcalf (4.4), Travis Kelce (4.9), and Puka Nacua (6.2) all had really quiet games. To make matters worse, Puka is injured now and is going to be hitting the IR for at least 4 games, or so I've heard. Ouch! Hopefully Alice can rebound from the loss of one of her star players.

On the flip side, TKF had a pretty bad week. Some very poor performances up and down the roster, led by Brandon Aiyuk (3.8), D'Andre Swift (5), and his tight end duo of Jonnu Smith and Gerald Everett, who combined for 1.6 points between the two of them. Foyesade Oluokun (15.25), James Connor (17.8), and Ezekiel Elliott (11.9) exceeded expectations for this team.

Next week, Alice looks to move to 2-0 against My Team (more on this team to come), while TKF has a tough matchup with defending champ ned's rollers.

Alright, now let's get to to that super fun matchup I've been DYING to talk about.

TBone's Terrific Team (1-0) 109.3 vs My Team (0-1) 88.73

The battle between two of last year's most uninspiring teams kicked off our season in a very spectacular fashion. Spectacularly bad, that is.

As poor as My Team's 88.73 point performance was, it actually was not the worst performance this week (that honor goes to Bluth Company, who we will be getting to later). But even though this team was facing TBone, the team with the worst record in the league last year, they still could not eke out a win.

TBone's week one victory would not have been possible without Tyreek Hill (22.5), Brian Robinson Jr (16.4), and Harrison Smith (11.25). The rest of the team was absolutely atrocious. What happened to Kirk Cousins (8.2) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (4.05)? St. Brown's performance was even worse when you consider the fact that the only reason he reached his point total is because he also had a tackle in the game. Luckily for TBone, these bad performances will likely not be replicated. Hopefully he can patch up some glaring holes on his roster (like at TE and IDP) and he can be a decent contender this year.

On the other side of things, My Team would have had a chance of winning if he had not left so many points on the bench. It was more about who was left out of the game (Tony Pollard with 16.9 points, Rashee Rice with 15.05 points, Baker Mayfield with 37.66 points) than it was who actually was in the game. I mean, I suppose you can't fault him for starting Goff (13.38) over Mayfield, but that's beside the point. I do not think all hope is lost for My Team. Please don't give up, Uncle Pete! You have a solid roster, you just need to fix up those IDP spots that are filled with bench warmers (they combined for 7.75 points, ouch). There are plenty of quality defensive players on the waiver wire. If you can do that, and make sure you are putting your productive players in the lineup each week, you can win some games and turn this thing around. If not, you may be looking at the #1 pick next year. I guess we'll see what happens.

TDs or Bust (1-0) 169.28 vs Show me the TDs (0-1) 154.17

This was another matchup I was really looking forward to in week one. Not only is it one of two playoff rematches from last season, but I also predicted these two teams would make the playoffs again here in 2024. It turned into the highest scoring matchup of the week, as the two teams combined for well over 300 points.

In the loss, Show me the TDs was led by Tua Tagovailoa (20.62), Deebo Samuel (16.2), and Justin Jefferson (13.9) offensively. His IDP and kicker also had big showings as well. Unfortunately, it just was not enough as he was going up against the highest scoring team of the week. It will be interesting to see how this team handles the Isaiah Likely situation going forward. Likely had a surprisingly big week one, outscoring teammate Mark Andrews by 19 fantasy points. What will Sean do with him in the upcoming weeks? Continue to leave him on the bench, or put him in over David Njoku or Trey McBride? It's a tough situation that I am sure most of us TE depraved teams would love to be in.

TDs or Bust, like I said, scored the most points in the league this week. The team was led by Cooper Kupp (25), Breece Hall (15.8), and Jahmyr Gibbs (15.4) on offense. But it was the kicker Chris Boswell who saved the day for this team with 26 points. Without that big outburst, it would have been a much closer game.

ned's rollers (1-0) 139.17 vs BDB's Jet Setters (0-1) 126.36

This was not technically the closest game, or even the highest scoring one, but it may be the game of the week overall. It was very close, very back and forth all weekend long. At one point, BDB's team was massively favored to win because of the lead they'd built up behind Saquon Barkley and his 32.2 points on Friday night. But as the weekend unfolded, ned's team crept closer and closer, and ended up pulling out the win in the end.

This was a good win for ned, as he led off the season not only with a win as defending champion, but also by beating BDB for the third time in four games (2-1 last year, including playoffs and 1-0 this year).

Aside from the aforementioned big performance by Saquon Barkley, BDB was led in defeat by Stefon Diggs (18.9), Aaron Jones (17.9), and Travis Etienne (10.9). Ned's win was fueled by Chris Godwin (18.3), Ken Walker (17.9), and Isiah Pacheco (14.8).

Fergalicious (1-0) 140.17 vs Bluth Company (0-1) 82.51

Our final matchup was one of the most shocking games of week one, as Fergalicious (formerly known as Thunder Thighs) absolutely walloped Bluth Company by 58 points. Fergalicious is looking tough this season after starting last year 0-7 and finishing with the second worst record in the league. Look out, here comes Mike, everyone!

What went wrong for Bluth Company? How did the second highest scoring team in the league last year manage to set an all time Rad Dynasty record for fewest points scored in a game? The team underperforming was the biggest obvious factor. I'm going to rattle off some bad performances: Drake London (2.5), Christian Kirk (3.5), Gus Edwards (3.3), Dalton Schultz (3.1), Michael Mayer (1.9), Younghoe Koo (4), Danielle Hunter (2.75), and Camryn Bynum (4) were the low scorers in the game. Combined, they scored fewer points in total than Josh Allen, who Bluth traded away in the offseason. The game was already decided come Monday night, but Christian McCaffrey was benched at the last minute and Bluth was stuck with him and his goose egg in the starting lineup. Not pretty. Not pretty at all. Luckily, it is a very long fantasy season.

Fergalicious was clicking on all cylinders. Lamar Jackson set the stage on Thursday night with his 27.12 point performance. The rest of the team had strong performances as well. Nico Collins (14.7), Devonta Smith (13.15), and safety Julian Love (22.5) led the way in the win.

Fergalicious looks to move to a surprising 2-0 next week as they take on BDB, while Bluth has one of the best possible teams to rebound against with TBone's Terrific Team.

Week one is in the books!

You can't really predict too much from the standings after week one. Some teams had bad weeks but will probably rebound. Some teams overperformed and will come back to earth. Some teams looked good but have injury problems. Plus, you never know who could get hurt on any given day. But I think we have a rough idea of what to expect going forward: another hard fought season with 12 teams fighting and scraping for just 4 playoff spots.

As always, I will include a photo of the standings before I sign off and wish everyone good luck in week 2.

The Rad Dynasty 2024 Season Preview

Hello everyone. Can you believe we are just 2 days away from kickoff? The second season of The Rad Dynasty is about to get underway!

Before we get too far into this season preview, here is a friendly reminder to set your rosters. Since this is a keeper league, Yahoo's settings are a little funny and you may have bench warmers sitting there in your starting lineup. For example, right now TBone has Derrick Henry sitting on the bench while injured Clyde Edwards Helaire is in the starting lineup. Many people still have "useless" IDP players in their lineup, projected to score 0 or 1 point. You probably want to take them out. If you have someone on the PUP list or on IR, move them to one of your two IR spots to make room for other players. And if you missed the draft and are bummed you missed out on some of the fun incoming rookies, there are still many of them sitting on the waiver wire like Luke McCaffrey, Roman Wilson, Jermaine Burton, Malachi Corley, among many others.

Now, onto the season preview!

Last year's winner, Ned, will look to defend his crown this season. A number of teams have used the draft and offseason trades to position themselves as contenders this year. A few other teams missed the draft and look to have taken a step back after Yahoo's horrendous auto picks for their teams. But let's break things down one at a time with my predictions. I broke the teams up into 3 categories of 4: The Rebuilders, The Hoverers, and The Contenders.

The Rebuilders: My Team, Tbone's Terrific Team, Fergalicious (formerly known as Thunder Thighs), and BDB's Jet Setters.

No disrespect meant to any of these teams, but on paper these look like teams that may struggle this year. They all missed the draft, which means that they didn't get their hands on many of the coveted incoming rookies/new players because of Yahoo's dumb auto drafting.

If things bounce the right way, and these managers begin cleaning up some of the holes on their rosters, some of these teams can be competitive. My Team has a great TE duo with Brock Bowers and Kittle. The rest of the team is filled with average to above average talent. Guys like Goff, Mixon, Ridley, Pollard, and Rashee Rice. Not necessarily "sexy" fantasy names, but names that give you points. All it takes is for one or more of these guys to have a breakout season and this suddenly becomes a dangerous team. We'll see what happens.

Tbone's team has a lot of high end talent like Tyreek Hall, Amon Ra St Brown, and Derrick Henry. The rest of the moving pieces are not as good, but with a little tweaking, I could see this team be very competitive. They've got Cousins at QB and some other interesting players like Freiermuth and Brian Robinson Jr. The biggest question is if we'll see a fully committed Tbone or not. Setting his lineup, making roster moves, adjusting for bye weeks, etc. If we do, this could be a dangerous team.

Fergalicious is an interesting one. Just like with My Team, there are not a lot of "sexy" names but there are some productive fantasy players there - like Nico Collins, Jonathan Taylor, and Amari Cooper. I like the dynasty potential of the TE tandem of Luke Musgrave and Jake Ferguson. QB room looks good, too. Even though I am ranking these as the bottom 4 teams, it is a testament to how competitive the league was last year (and hopefully will be going forward!) that I don't consider anyone to be completely out of the running.

BDB is the last one listed in my bottom 4. The starting lineup is solid, with a quality running back trio of Etienne, Barkley, and Aaron Jones. Stefon Diggs and Justin Herbert are productive players, too. What I worry about is the team's depth. There is not much else here. The TE room is paper thin, and if literally anyone gets hurt there is almost no room to replace them. The margin for error is small with this team, but like I said, they could still surprise me. Last year for example I took this team for granted and they just won won won their way into the playoffs.

The Hoverers: Alice in Horns, The Killing Fields, Bluth Company, Teflon Don (formerly known as Turd Ferguson).

This is a really tough category to rank, because I feel all of these teams could easily be in the contender tier. Again, this is a testament as to how strong and competitive this league has been, and hopefully shall continue to be.

First up, Alice. This is a team that really came on strong last year only to miss the playoffs with a couple of tough luck losses at the end of the season. The only reason I have Alice here is because I think it will be hard for her Rams players Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams to duplicate their tremendous success of last year. If I am wrong on this, I will gladly eat crow. Otherwise, looking at this team's roster, they had a strong draft and with a little rookie success I think they are deep enough to be good in this league for a long, long time. An interesting note - Yahoo currently is predicting Alice to go 0-15 this year for some reason. I think it is because she is missing a kicker and has an empty IDP spot. But she'll clearly fix that before the year starts.

The Killing Fields is next. It is a solid team on paper with reliable fantasy players at nearly every position. Mahomes, Aiyuk, Adams, Conner, Swift, etc. They also have a fantastic defense that put up massive numbers last season, nearly carrying this team to a playoff berth. I'm eager to see if that success carries over to this year. I do worry about the depth of this team. The TE room is lacking, and the team as a whole is quite old and lacking in youth. Missing the draft and missing out on guys like Trey Benson, Brian Thomas Jr, and Rome Odunze, etc. was not ideal for the long term success of the team.

Bluth company also makes this list. Yahoo is actually predicting them to go 12-3 and make the playoffs in their current ranking - but I am going to pump the brakes a little bit here. I feel this team would have been better suited hanging onto Breece Hall and Josh Allen. I'm not 100% sold on CJ Stroud. It'll be nearly impossible for McCaffrey to replicate last year's success. I've never been  a Drake London person. I do like some of the long term moves made, like drafting Jonathan Brooks and Ladd McConkey, but I just have a weird feeling they suffer a down year become everything gels in 2025.

It saddens me to say it but I have to put my brother Chris (Teflon Don) as the last team in this tier. This team absolutely killed it in the draft, adding Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Xavier Worthy. He also added Rachaad White in a trade with TDs or Bust for Cooper Kupp. He must be pretty confident in Nabers's ability to step in and contribute right away. On paper this is a team that is going to score just a ton of points. If Chris Olave makes a big jump, and Zach Moss has success with the Bengals, this is going to be a team that can easily make the playoffs. I only rank them here because the top 4 are so strong.

The Contenders: Dynastic Dan, ned's rollers, TDs or Bust, Show me the TDs

These teams are the 4 teams I predict to make the playoffs this year. If/when I am undoubtedly wrong, I will gladly come back here and eat my words. While these teams may look strong on paper, a lot can happen during the course of a fantasy season.

I'll start with Dynastic Dan, my team. I have not stopped thinking about this league since it ended last year. I finished 6-9 and missed the playoffs. Had the fourth worst record in the league. I thought to myself, how am I going to turn things around? I started researching the upcoming draft class and I familiarized myself with all the top prospects. I made aggressive offseason trades, to gain the #2 and the #9 picks in the draft as well as Josh Allen, Garrett Wilson, Raheem Mostert, and James Cook. It cost me a steep price, as I had to part with Jahmyr Gibbs, Justin Herbert, CJ Mosley, Jayden Reed, the #4 pick, and my second round pick, but I think I came out on top of things. And during the draft, I ended up picking a ton of my well-researched favorites, like Marvin Harrison Jr, Rome Odunze, Keon Coleman, and Brian Thomas Jr. On paper, it looks like I have an absolutely stacked roster, and completely turned around from last season. And strong on the dynasty front too, with lots of young players primed for long term success.

So I am picking myself as one of the top 4 playoff teams. With all the prep work I've been doing, it will be a big disappointment if I am not there. But I am fully prepared for that. The league is going to be tough as nails.

I also feel as if ned's rollers is going to be back in postseason contention. Having played many a fantasy league with ned, the man is a fantasy guru and will ALWAYS be one of the top teams. He has a strong core of players featuring Hurts, Lamb, Pacheco, Kincaid, Ken Walker, JSN, Kyler Murray, among many others. He also had a savvy draft, grabbing Ben Sinnott in a league where TE is king. Also added some good depth pieces. I don't know if ned will repeat as champion this year, but it would be foolish to doubt him.

Both TD teams make my list, too. I've always been impressed with the depth of Show me the TDs. The team has a bajillion good receivers (Deebo, Jefferson, DJ Moore, Pittman, Mike Evans). They are good at RB (Josh Jacobs, Najee, and Zamir White). They also have elite talent at TE (McBride, Njoku). Their only question mark is at QB, with Tua as the only proven starter. This team is so stacked with talent that I think there is no way they do not make the playoffs. The only knock against them is missing the draft, and missing out on the chance to stack some elite rookies behind the starters in order to ensure long term success.

Last but certainly not least, my pick for winner of the league - TDs or Bust. Perry is a guy like me who always has fantasy football on the mind, even in the offseason. Dynasty is perfect for guys like us, because it never ends. When a redraft season is over - that's it. Nothing to think about aside from what went wrong and how you are going to draft next year. But dynasty is always in motion. Perry made some nice offseason moves, like acquiring Jahmyr Gibbs and Breece Hall. They will combine with Bijan Robinson to create the best possible trio at RB you can get in dynasty. Seriously, how did we allow this to happen? He leveraged some of his RB depth by trading Rachaad White to get Cooper Kupp - a guy who looks to be 100% healthy and is coming off a historic WR season just a few years ago. I'm not too sold on the rest of his roster (outside of Sam LaPorta at TE) but I think his running backs will be strong enough to cover any deficiencies. And it's not like guys such as Zay Flowers, George Pickens, or Trevor Lawrence are slouches. They are just not too overly exciting of players. But overall this team should get the job done.

That's it! Thanks for reading. If you are curious, here are Yahoo's current predictions:
