The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Three Recap

It finally happened! I'm in first place! My life is now complete. I will never reach a higher point in life than this. And it is all thanks to player of the week Josh Allen. He wins this honor for the second time in three weeks this season. He threw for 263 yards and 4 TDs, while earning 38.92 fantasy points. He has to be the front runner for fantasy MVP, at least after 3 games. Fun fact: Jauan Jennings would have been player of the week with his 41 fantasy points, but alas - he was left on the bench by ned.

I supposed we can dive right into my matchup, as it was a battle between unbeatens.

Dynastic Dan (3-0) 159.32 vs Alice in Horns (2-1) 136.16

I always look forward to my matchups with Alice, as she is an excellent competitor. We both came into the game 2-0 and with first place on the line. It was a back and forth battle. Originally I was favored to win big, and then Alice's team mounted a giant comeback behind Kyren Williams (30.6), DK Metcalf (18.4) and Alvin Kamara (14.2) - along with a quiet Sunday from Dan's big names. De'von Achane and Garrett Wilson underperformed, while Mark Andrews continued his horrible season with a goose egg. Going into Monday's action, the score was essentially tied. It was all going to come down to Monday night's games.

Enter Josh Allen. His massive output, combined with Ja'Marr Chase's 26.8 points, both pushed Dynastic Dan over the top. Joe Burrow had a good game with 31.36 points, but a bunch of those points were to Chase, which made it harder for Alice to pull off the win.

Dynastic Dan moves to 3-0 and, as I mentioned before, into first place for the first time ever in the Rad Dynasty. He'll look to get his first victory ever over The Killing Fields next week, in the first of their two matchups this season. Alice looks to rebound against last place (and the lowest scoring team in the league) Bluth Company.

Let's talk about them next.

Teflon Don (1-2) 179.76 vs Bluth Company (0-3) 84.65

Bluth Company's nightmare start continues with a shockingly bad loss to Teflon Don. Both teams came into this game without a win, but only one of them would be leaving with a 95 point victory - and it wouldn't be Bluth Company. Is that the biggest margin of victory in the history of the league? I just checked the record book and it sure is. Things just keep getting worse and worse for poor Bluth Company.

My brother Chris not only earns his first win of the season, he was also the highest scoring team of the week. Turns out he didn't even need the massive scoring outburst because Bluth Company was so bad. The leading scorers for Teflon Don were Dak Prescott (33.86), Malik Nabers (24.2), and Dallas Goedert (23.25). Several other players also scored in double figures.

The numbers weren't quite so gaudy for Bluth Company. Only two offensive players scored in double figures: CJ Stroud (who underperformed with 11.8 points) and Drake London (15.7). Bluth's team was riddled with bad performances, such as Gus Edwards (0.9), Dalton Schultz (2.1), and two goose eggs - one from Ja'Tavion Sanders and one from Rashid Shaheed.

Things do not get easier for Bluth Company next week, as they face off against Alice. Teflon Don also draws a tough matchup against TDs or Bust.

Fergalicious (3-0) 141.98 vs ned's rollers (2-1) 94.04

This was the week's second matchup of unbeaten teams. Ned came into this game in first place, while Fergalicious was trying to stake claim as the most surprising team of the season. Remember last year when they started 0-7? I'm going to keep bringing that up, especially if the team keeps winning. This win in particular was impressive, against the reigning champ. And it was not even close.

Ned picked a bad time to have probably his worst offensive output ever in this league. Chris Godwin (14.3) and Dalton Kincaid (11.6) were the only two players to significantly overperform. The rest of the team had a dud week. Except for Jauan Jennings, who scored 41 on ned's bench.

Fergalicious was led by Lamar Jackson (27.98), Jonathan Taylor (26), and Austin Ekeler (12.7). A ton of other players had double figures, too. A great all around performance from Fergalicious.

Next week ned looks to get back in the win column against My Team, one of the worst teams in the league. Fergalicious has a tough battle against Show me the TDs.

TDs or Bust (2-1) 131.69 vs TBone's Terrific Team (2-1) 106.8

There is not much to say about this matchup. TBone is undefeated, but let's be real - this is the first time he is facing actual competition. It probably wasn't the big blowout that TDs or Bust was looking for, but a win is a win either way.

The running back trio of Breece Hall, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Bijan Robinson combined for 44.8 points for TDs or Bust. He also had a nice game from his IDP. On the flip side, Perry did not get much out of his quarterback, wide receivers, or tight ends - which could be a cause for concern going forward.

Derrick Henry (29.9) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (18.25) kept TBone in the game, but Kirk Cousins and Tyreek Hill's duds cost the team the game. TBone's tight end situation was shockingly bad, with Juwan Johnson and Durham Smythe combining for 0.8 points. Pat Freiermuth - out of the flex for some reason, had 5.3 points. The end of Timmy's bench is looking quite grim. Hopefully TBone can make some savvy moves, otherwise this is a team that looks like it is going to be in rebuild mode for quite some time.

Next week will be pivotal for both teams. TDs or Bust has a hyuuuge game against Teflon Don. TBone looks to stay above .500 against struggling BDB. Although BDB did not struggle in week 3.

BDB's Jet Setters (1-2) 163.81 vs Show me the TDs (1-2) 129.2

This is the blowout that no one saw coming. It may be even more surprising than Fergalicious destroying ned. BDB came into this game 0-2 and only averaging about 105 points per game. They absolutely exploded in this one, dropping hopeful playoff contender Show me the TDs to 1-2.

I am starting to lose steam with these write ups and I really need to go to bed. So I am speeding things up. Hope you don't mind. Saquon had 31.6 for BDB's team, while Zach Charbonnet (26.7) was the high scorer for Show me the TDs.

The Killing Fields (1-2) 121.48 vs My Team (0-3) 98.21

The Killing Fields finally gets into the win column this season. This is a game they needed to win if they wanted to stay alive and not fall so far back right out of the gates. Cole Kmet (20.7) was the high scorer for TKF. Rashee Rice (23.1), Devin Singletary (16.8), and Terry McLaurin (18) tried to will My Team to victory, but their efforts were not enough. Hard to win when you leave two injured players (Mixon and Kittle) in the lineup, leading to two goose eggs. And a bunch of bench warmer IDP in the lineup as well. My Team has consistently given the least effort in the league, and is a candidate to get replaced next season. I hate to say that because it is my uncle Peter and I really want him to be dedicated and stick around. But this is bad for the competitive balance of the league.

---

As always, I will close things out with a look at the standings. For the first time ever, I gaze upon myself in first place. 3-0 feels good, especially considering I haven't played any "layup" teams. My schedule has been tough. I guess I will enjoy it while I can.

Fergalicious is right behind me at 3-0, while a handful of other teams occupy the 2-1 and 1-2 spots. My Team and Bluth Company sit at 0-3. Bluth Company's bad start looks especially bad when you see they are being outscored by nearly 50 points by My Team, who doesn't seem to even be trying this season. Ouch.

Anyway, I hope you are enjoying these recaps. Even when I take small shots and barbs at people's teams and their performances, I am doing it with love. All of you are great and I want to thank you for making this such a fun thing for me to obsess over.
