The Rad Dynasty: 2024 Season: Week Six Recap

It's week six and things have been shaken up in the Rad Dynasty! There are no longer any undefeated teams, and there is now a three way tie for first in the league. A bunch of other teams are right behind, vying for one of only four playoff spots in the league. It's only week six and it is already shaping up to be a season long battle for those elusive spots.

Before we break down the action, special shout out to player of the week Baker Mayfield, whose 33.9 fantasy points helped lift My Team to their first win of the season. Baker threw for 325 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Bucs win over the Saints. Great job, Baker. My Team holds you in their gratitude forever.

ned's rollers (4-2) 160.76 vs Dynastic Dan (5-1) 137.55

I am undefeated no more. Not gonna lie, even though I knew it would never happen, I was seriously hoping for an undefeated season this year. I've never seen a fantasy team go undefeated before, and it would have been awesome if it was my team that pulled it off. Oh well. I didn't deserve this one anyway. Even though I technically overperformed, it was only by one point. Ned, on the other hand, had a big game week with lots of players having mammoth games.

Ned moves back into the playoff picture at 4-2, and looks to improve upon that win total next week as they take on last place and winless Bluth Company. Dynastic Dan looks to rebound against TBone, whose team is starting to come back to earth a little.

TDs or Bust (4-2) 189.86 vs Fergalicious (5-1) 142.02

Another undefeated team goes down as TDs or Bust hands Fergalicious their first loss. Fergalicious had a decent game, scoring 142 points, but it is tough to win when your opponent goes off for nearly 190 like this. Only 3 of Perry's 13 players scored in single figures. Everyone else had themselves a big game.

Despite the mammoth win, TDs or Bust still sits outside the playoff picture in 5th place. A lot of season left to go, though! I am going to use this time to remind everyone that tiebreakers at the end of the season are determined by head to head matchups when two teams are tied in the rankings. If three or more are tied, it comes down to points. As this is Perry's only matchup with Fergalicious, this game could be big at the end of the year.

Next week, Fergalicious looks to rebound against red-hot Alice, who is also 5-1 now. TDs or Bust looks to keep the good vibes rolling in a week one rematch against Show me the TDs. Another game that will have massive implications between two high scoring teams with a few losses looking for a playoff bid.

My Team (1-5) 168.55 vs TBone's Terrific Team (4-2) 92.05

Hats off to My Team, as this team has really put together some strong performances in a row, here. This was the first time it has translated into a win, but you just knew it was coming sooner or later. They completely eviscerated TBone, who came into this matchup at 4-1.

Looks like TBone kind of fell asleep at the wheel here, as they started a few injured/bye week players. Hopefully TBone can turn it around and get back to his winning ways, but hopefully not next week when he plays me. My Team looks to build on this momentum in week 7 - in a family member matchup. Dan's uncle vs Dan's brother. Always a good one for bragging rights.

Alice in Horns (5-1) 140.97 vs BDBs Jet Setters (1-5) 119.97

Alice ran away with this one, in a battle between two teams going opposite directions. Alice pulls into a three way tie for first with Dynastic Dan and Fergalicious. BDB, who was a strong playoff team last year, is really struggling this season. He is 1-5 and is fielding the third lowest scoring team in the league.

BDB has a great chance to rebound next week against the suddenly god awful Killing Fields. Alice faces off against fellow 5-1 team Fergalicious in what looks to be the biggest game of week 7. One will be 6-1 and other will find themselves out of first place at 5-2.

Show me the TDs (3-3) 156.85 vs Bluth Company (0-6) 127.58

The nightmare continues for Bluth Company. No matter what they do, this team just cannot catch a break. They are now 0-6 and going nowhere fast. This team essentially needs to win out or only lose one more game to keep their playoff hopes alive. Otherwise it is looking like a high draft pick for this team next season.

Show me the TDs continues to impress. Despite the 3-3 record, the are the third highest scoring team in the league. They are certainly still in the running. As I mentioned earlier, next week's matchup against the other TDs team is going to be crucial. Bluth is looking to simply get a win next week against reigning champ ned.

Teflon Don (3-3) 141.91 vs The Killing Fields (1-5) 65.95

This was an ugly game, as The Killing Fields shattered the record for fewest points scored in a contest. Injured and bye week players filled the lineup, as seemingly no adjustments have been made on this team for several weeks now. I don't like to step in as a commish, but this performance was definitely worth me sending TKF a message outside the game. You gotta get your head back into things, or you risk getting replaced next season.

Teflon Don has weathered the injury storm, and sits at 3-3 despite all the bad luck his team has been suffering. Chris will look to move to 4-3 next week as he has a favorable matchup against Uncle Pete's My Team. But this matchup is no longer a gimme, as My Team has been looking great the last few weeks. My Team also won last year's season series 2-0. Maybe this will be the time Chris finally breaks through?

On the flip side of things, The Killing Fields has a winnable matchup against BDB, another team that is 1-5 and hasn't done much this year. If either of these teams want to turn around their season, it HAS to start in week seven.

---

All right, we're done. I hope you don't mind that I stopped putting all the players' point totals in these recaps, as it takes a lot of looking back and forth and clicking on things to add them here. It saves me a lot of time leaving those out. I think I'll keep it this way for a while, unless I find myself with extra time to recap later on in the year.

Until then, let's have a look at the standings. The thing that jumps out is the three way tie at the top between Alice, Dan, and Mike. Ned, the two TDs teams, and Teflon Don are also right there, challenging for a top spot in the standings. I hate to say this, but I do not have much faith in TBone to keep up his winning ways. I think he'll be out of the running pretty quick (now watch he beats me next week!). So really, you've got seven contenders vying for four playoff spots. That's awesome. That's exactly what I wanted when I started this league. A competitive league where each and every game is like a playoff game because they matter so much.

I hope this continues all year long.
