The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season: Draft Recap, Meet Your Competitors, and Trading 101

Year 3 of this dynasty league is underway, so I figured I'd post a little bit about each one of you, because I know some of you have not crossed paths or encountered each other before. Now that the group text has been introduced, hopefully it will spark some conversations amongst the teams, and we can start getting some more offseason wheeling and dealing done. Remember: during the season you can make trades through Yahoo. In the offseason, you can't do it through Yahoo. But you can still make trades. Just reach out to a fellow manager and work out an agreement. Message it to me, and I will update everything from my end. So if for example, BDB wanted to trade his first round pick and one player to Ned for his 3rd round pick and another player, they would just message me the trade and I would make the draft adjustment and player swap manually from my end. Remember: the season never really ends in dynasty. I know I think about my team and what I want to do waaaaayyy more than is healthy for a normal human being. I don't know if you all are like that or not. I know Perry is.

A few things I want to make clear that I am not sure if they've been made clear before: you CAN include FAB in a trade. Why not? Yahoo doesn't let you do it, so just let me know how much you are including and I'll make the adjustment.  Also, FAB carries over from year to year. Each year, you get 100 FAB dollars added to your team. If you didn't use any FAB last year, now you have 200. If you used 50, you now have 150. If you used it all, you now have 100. I made this post last year so everyone should be aware of this, but I am posting it again as a reminder so there are no excuses that anyone "didn't know" this was a rule.

Trades involving draft picks must include an equal number of draft picks for the same season coming back in return. So if I trade my 4th round pick in 2026, I HAVE to get a 2026 pick from the other team back in return. If I trade my 2027 4th, I have to get a 2027 pick back in return. I can't get a pick this season or any other season in return. You can trade draft picks up to 4 drafts in advance. So right now the latest pick I could trade is my 2029 pick. Because the 26, 27, 28, and 29 drafts are the next 4. After the next draft takes place, you can then trade your 2030 pick. It's always the next 4 drafts.

If you have any questions about trading, don't hesitate to message me.

*side note: this is also the final season where there will only be 4 teams making the playoffs. Starting in 2026, 6 teams will make the postseason each year*

OK, now that I'm done talking about trading, I'll move onto the meet and greet and the draft recap. I'll do it team by team.

TDs or Bust 21-9 overall regular season record (.700) 0 titles

Facebook: Perry Dutcher

I know Perry through CapTel, a place I've worked at since 2012. You'll notice a few people in this league are coworkers or former coworkers at CapTel. Perry is the guy who got me into fantasy football to begin with. He is also the one who thinks about dynasty the most (aside from me) and is probably always looking to make a trade. Don't hesitate to reach out to him if you ever have an offer. He's someone who is basically guaranteed to respond and have a dialogue with you. He's also the winningest player in Rad Dynasty history with a .700 regular season winning percentage. Unfortunately, he has no titles to show for it. That looks to change this year, as he has aggressively swung for the fences through trades, and has one of the best rosters in the league. Adding Justin Jefferson makes a trio of Bijan/Gibbs/JJ - and that should be a terrifying thought for the rest of the league. This is perhaps the best 1/2/3 punch we've seen in league history. He also has Drake London, who is no slouch. And he just drafted Omarion Hampton. This team could be good for a long time.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Omarion Hampton
Rd 2 Jaydon Blue
Rd 3 Jack Bech
Rd 4 Jaylin Noel
Rd 5: Devin Neal

Grade: B. Hampton is a home run pick in the first round, although I was wondering if he'd take Travis Hunter, who could potentially be a cheat code slotted in at DB. The rest of the picks are all fairly good prospects with decent opportunity to earn playing time this year, but no real sure thing picks.

Fergalicious 15-15 overall regular season record (.500) ONE TITLE
Email: michaelhcrisp@gmail.com
Text: 262-302-0845
Facebook: Michael Crisp

Fergalicious is my former coworker Mike. I've known him for a super long time. He is another CapTel person. He's always a threat to win in fantasy. In all the fantasy sports seasons I have commished (basketball and football) he has only ever NOT won one time. Once. That was the initial season of The Rad Dynasty when he had a losing record. Otherwise he won season two of the Rad Dynasty, and he is also 4-0 in my NBA league. So in 6 appearances in games I've hosted, he's won 5 of them. It is impressive. He'll look to become the first repeat champion in league history, perhaps solidifying his team as the first real dynasty in this league.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Cam Skattebo
Rd 2 Darren Waller
Rd 3 Will Lutz
Rd 4: Josh Blackwell
Rd 5: Sam Hubbard

Grade: D+. This was an auto draft so hopefully Mike doesn't take offense to my D+ grade. Skattebo was the only real good pick that was made. That's why this gets a D+ and not a D. I'm not sure I'd waste a second rounder on a TE who is always injured and just came out of retirement. The rest of the picks are IDP and a kicker, which is nothing to get excited about. Fergalicious won the title last year despite auto drafting last year as well, so while on the surface this may seem like a bad draft, as long as the core roster plays well this team will be okay.

This is my brother Chris. We've only started playing fantasy football together since 2023 (Rad Dynasty season one). Chris is super competitive and I am sure he is disappointed he has missed the playoffs in each of the first two seasons. But his team is looking good going into next year. He is 0-7 combined against me and my uncle Peter, and then 15-8 against the rest of the league. So he has always been really close to breaking out. Luckily he nailed it in the draft last year, taking Nabers, Worthy, Tracy, and Jayden Daniels. The future is looking great for this team.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Kaleb Johnson
Rd 2 Bhayshul Tuten
Rd 3 Ricky Pearsall
Rd 4 Evan McPherson
Rd 5 Pat Bryant

Grade: B-. Yahoo gave Chris an F but I don't think that is accurate at all. They only give him an F because he left 2 IDP spots blank after the draft, and now they think he's going to be a super low scoring team with 2 empty roster spots. I'm sure he'll fix that soon. Anyway, Kaleb is a great first rounder and I am very high on him. Tuten is a speed guy and could be boom or bust in Jacksonville. Pearsall is a steal in the 3rd round, as he was a 2024 first rounder in a lot of dynasty leagues. Taking a kicker fills a need, and Pat Bryant has been compared to Michael Thomas by the Broncos coach.

Thank you Scotty for stepping in and taking over this team from John Olsen, who was a terrible manager. It will take a lot to turn this team around, but if anyone can do it, it is you. Scotty is another CapTel person, and one of the nicest individuals I met during my time with the company. He is also a giant threat to win any fantasy football league he is in, so the managerial switch should help make this league a lot more competitive all of a sudden. He had a shell of a decent team coming into the draft, and he had a good draft. This team can turn its fortunes around. It may be a building process and it could take a season for these rookies to grow into their roles, but this team seems to be in good hands.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 RJ Harvey
Rd 2 Matthew Golden
Rd 3 Dylan Sampson
Rd 4 Kyle Williams
Rd 5 Hollywood Brown

Grade: B+. This was a pretty excellent draft, as all of this team's top 4 picks are players I liked throughout the draft process. Although I think Harvey was a reach at 1.03, he could flourish in Denver. Golden could be the guy in GB. Dylan Sampson has opportunity in Cleveland. And Kyle Williams could be Drake Maye's #1 receiver in New England. I like it.

My Team 11-19 overall record (.367) 0 titles

Facebook: Peter Blasezyk

This is my uncle Peter. Just like with my brother, we've only been playing fantasy together since the initial season of this league. I'm sure his winning percentage is not exactly what he'd hoped it would be, but he's had a lot of other things to worry about the last two years aside from this team. I don't feel like we've gotten 100% Peter yet. Maybe this will be the turnaround season. Before the draft, he trimmed his roster down to 15 and said he is looking to do a rebuild, so I am excited to see where things go from here. His team went on a surprisingly decent run last year, and that was with minimal effort being put into things. I'm very interested to see what 100% Peter will bring. He comes in with solid QBs with Baker and Goff. Probably the best TE group in the entire league with Kittle and Bowers. His RBs and WRs are pretty decent, too.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Jordan Mason
Rd 2 Quinshon Judkins
Rd 3 Jaylen Wright
Rd 4 Zamir White
Rd 5 Justice Hill
Rd 6 Sam Darnold
Rd 7 Robert Spillane
Rd 8 Micah McFadden
Rd 9 Brandon Jones
Rd 10 Jonathan Greenard

Grade: C. Apparently My Team was looking at data for the 2024 season when making his draft picks this year and drafted like it was a season ago, haha. I was wondering why he took Zamir White so high. It could be worse, I suppose. Jordan Mason could be vying with Aaron Jones for lead back in MN. Judkins was a dynasty first rounder until his legal trouble. Wright could be something, especially if Achane ever gets hurt. Darnold is a good QB to have on your roster in case of emergency. The rest of the picks like Justice Hill and the IDPs are hard to get excited about.

TBone's Terrific Team 8-22 (.267) 0 titles

Facebook: Tim Schmidt

This is my wife's cousin's husband Tim, or Timmy as we call him. When I started this league I just knew I had to have him in it, as he is the biggest sports fanatic I know. Unfortunately it has not translated into wins. He has the worst record in the young history of this league. Just a .267 winning percentage through two seasons. Despite this, the team started out 4-1 last year before going on a 10 game losing streak to end the season. There are some really good pieces on this team. It is just a matter of how invested Timmy is in turning things around. I traded him a package of young and promising players in the offseason in exchange for his first round pick, and he later dropped almost all of these players (the only player he kept was Trevor Lawrence). I'm not sure why he did that. Plus the draft went poorly for him too. I could see this team finishing in last this year.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 2 Jake Bates
Rd 3 Theo Johnson
Rd 3 Juanyeh Thomas
Rd 4 Roschon Johnson
Rd 5 Tyler Allgeier

Grade: F. Almost every pick here is bad. Theo Johnson is the only one that I would consider a decent or an okay pick. He could be good if he stays healthy in NY. The rest of the picks do nothing to help this team, which was 4-11 last year. They could regress this season. Might they even go winless?

I've known Sean for a super long time. We met online when I was casting players for a Game of Thrones online role playing game. He randomly responded to one of my messages and agreed to play as Bran Stark. This must have been what, 12 or 13 years ago? We've been friends online ever since. His team has been a formidable presence through two years in the league. He's tied for the second best winning percentage in league history, and has made the playoffs in one of two seasons. In fact, if he had remembered to swap out an injured player in the 2023 post season he would have won that matchup, and gone on to win the title. His team looks good as ever this year. I do have to question trading away Justin Jefferson, although he did get LaPorta, Flowers, and two future firsts out of it. I guess it is a move where we'll have to wait and see if it pans out.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Tet McMillan
Rd 2 Cam Ward
Rd 3 Luther Burden
Rd 4 Marshawn Lloyd
Rd 5 Malachi Starks

Grade: B+. This draft addressed a need at QB. It will really look like a good move if Cam Ward hits. Tet McMillan is my WR#1 in this draft class, so I like this pick. I was going to take Malachi Starks myself if he'd fallen to me, but this team took him right before me. I'm not sure about his other two picks - they are more dart throws in my opinion. But they could be something, particularly Burden.

ned's rollers 19-11 (.633) ONE TITLE

Survivor Sucks ID: nedloh3

I've been playing in leagues with Ned for several years now. Every year, I circle my matchups with him because I always know it is going to be a major battle. Ned may be the single best fantasy football player I've matched up against. He has so many championship wins. In fact, he won year one in this league, but then had a rare down 2024 season. But even having a down season, he still finished with a winning record. If there is anything you can count on, it will be on Ned being a force yet again in this league. He's got a pretty good roster going into next season. That said, although I know his team will be solid, I think Ned is one trade or one home run draft selection away from being a true title contender.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Tyler Warren
Rd 2 Dont'e Thornton
Rd 3 Jalen Carter
Rd 4 Jessie Bates
Rd 5 Jake Elliott
Rd 6 Diontae Johnson

Grade: B-. I love the pick of Tyler Warren in the first round. I was hoping he'd fall to me. Thornton may have been a reach in the second round, but he's been gaining a lot of steam lately. If you've got a guy you believe in, go get him. The rest of his draft is mainly just filling in needs on defense and at kicker. Tyler Warren definitely makes this a winning draft. If Thornton hits, this draft looks a lot better in retrospect.

Bluth Company 10-20 overall (.333) 0 titles

Facbook: Bryan Hulke

This is my friend Bryan, who I have known online for a super long time. My time at Survivor Sucks goes back to the mid 2000s. I don't know when exactly Bryan and I began interacting, but it is possible we've known each other for over 15 years now. He played in the same online series (Vertigo) that Sean played in, but I don't think they ever appeared in the same game.

Back in the first year of this league, Bluth looked like he had a team that was going to dominate this league. Despite being one of the highest scoring teams in the league, he gave up by far the most points and missed the playoffs. Then in year 2, the wheels completely fell off. Trading away Josh Allen for a pick that turned into Michael Mayer was a questionable move, especially considering how poorly CJ Stroud filled in for Allen last year. Bluth went from A+ production to F production at quarterback overnight, and I don't think anyone could have predicted that because everyone thought Stroud was going to be good. And then CMC missed so much time. Everything went wrong for Bluth last year. Everyone was always injured. But of all the teams at the bottom of last year's standings, this is the one that I could easily see turning things around the most. He acquired Nix in a trade, so his QB woes should instantly be solved. He took Jeanty, and then if CMC is healthy that is a great RB combo. Ladd and Tee Higgins at WR. Solid TEs. Imagine if his draft picks hit? Huge dark horse team next season.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Ashton Jeanty
Rd 2 Elijah Arroyo
Rd 3 Jayden Higgins
Rd 4 Woody Marks
Rd 5 Kaden Elliss

Grade: B. Jeanty was a no brainer at the 1.01. Arroyo is an interesting pick. Personally, I like him as a prospect. But rookies take a while to develop in dynasty. Higgins is a very good pick. Marks is a question mark, although he does have a great name. Elliss is an underrated IDP. I had him in a dynasty league last year and he was a pretty consistent points scorer.

Survivor Sucks ID: B Debrun

I started playing fantasy with BDB around the same time I started with ned. I know them from the same place, and in fact I used to get the both of them mixed up all the time. But no longer! BDB had a great year one in this league, making the playoffs and losing to eventual champ Ned. But things completely fell apart in year two, despite having record-setting Saquon Barkley on his team. I think BDB's head just wasn't in it last year (he was traveling with a rugby team or something?) so that could explain the dip. Plus he had originally drafted a very old team that may have been good in a redraft league but not dynasty. Hopefully this year his picks hit and he can bounce back. With Saquon, anything is possible, but there isn't much there at WR. Being able to put Travis Hunter in as a defensive player could be a huge positional advantage.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Travis Hunter
Rd 2 Keon Coleman
Rd 3 Rashod Bateman
Rd 4 Aaron Rodgers
Rd 5 Jaleel McLaughlin

Grade: C+. Travis Hunter was a great pick in the first round. He is projected to score nearly 17 points in week 1, and he can be put in at defensive back. That is a big advantage to have. I guess we'll have to see if Coleman and Bateman can come in and contribute at WR, considering how thin the team was at WR coming into the draft. Rodgers is a good backup to have at QB. Herbert will probably be starting the majority of games for BDB.

Alice in Horns 19-11 (.633) 0 titles

Text: 858-349-8354
Facebook: Laurel Kay

I'm saving Alice for last because her cell number was added to the group chat last. I met Alice around the same time I met BDB and Ned. Again, I know them all from the same place. Aside from me and Perry, Alice is probably one of the most ambitious fantasy players I've met. She runs several leagues, she is in several leagues, and she is always one of the more competitive matchups on my schedule. Just like I circle my matchups with Ned, I do the same for Alice as well. She is one of the winningest players in Rad Dynasty history, tied for the second highest regular season winning percentage. Alice and I met in the playoffs last year, and I came out on top. Hopefully this is just the start of what will be a great rivalry for many years to come. She's got a fairly loaded team, so I am expecting another great season from her.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 Colston Loveland
Rd 2 Terrance Ferguson
Rd 3 Nick Bosa
Rd 4 TJ Edwards
Rd 5 Cam Bynum

Grade: B. I liked this draft for Alice. She came in needing tight end help, especially considering Kelce may retire soon. Colston Loveland is someone I was looking to draft in the 1st round. Alice took him right before me. Ferguson is another player I was eyeballing, and I was sniped again. As soon as I saw Ferguson was drafted by the Rams I just had a feeling he'd end up on Alice's team. The rest of the draft picks fill out the defense, which is always not the most exciting thing. But if these two TEs hit, Alice is going to be in a great spot because the rest of her team is pretty well stacked.

Done!

Oh wait, I am not done because I did not do myself

Dynastic Dan 18-12 overall (.600)

Facebook: Daniel Radmer

All of you know me so I don't need to do too much introducing. To you, I'm either a family member, a coworker, a former coworker, or a friend (either online or off). I've been really obsessed with dynasty lately, which is one of the reasons I started this league two seasons ago. I like redraft as well, but there is just something about building a team and watching it evolve from year to year that fascinates me. I do a lot of research and listen to a lot of dynasty podcasts. I familiarize myself with a lot of the young guys coming in. Surprisingly, I don't actually watch many games. In fact, I think I only saw two or three full games to completion all last season combined.

Year one of this league, my team was awful. Looking back, I really drafted a bad team. Luckily I was able to make some moves in year two, where I jumped into first place in the regular season and a loss in the title game. Acquiring Josh Allen was big. So was acquiring James Cook and Garrett Wilson. Plus I struck some gold with home grown players like Jamarr Chase, De'Von Achane, Tucker Kraft, and Chase Brown all having huge seasons. Mark Andrews was a great waiver pickup. Thanks BDB for dropping him when he got hurt in 2023. Plus I loaded up on some future studs in the 2024 draft, adding Brian Thomas Jr, Marvin Harrison Jr, and Rome Odunze. So my team is looking good for the future. But looking good doesn't always translate to performing well. I guess we'll see how I do this year.

2025 Draft picks:
Rd 1 TreVeyon Henderson
Rd 1 Emeka Egbuka
Rd 2 Mason Taylor
Rd 3 Tre Harris
Rd 4 Harold Fannin Jr
Rd 6 Budda Baker

Grade: A+++++ (you know I am always going to give myself an A+ right?) I don't know how things could have gone any better for me. I was originally hoping to take a TE that was either Loveland or Warren, but they were both gone when my pick came at 1.10. But that was ok because it meant TreVeyon Henderson had fallen to me. I love this RB as a prospect and a home run hitter, and I never would have expected him to fall to me. I also took Egbuka, who I had listed as my WR2 in this rookie class behind Tet McMillan. The rest of the draft went well too. I addressed my TE room by adding Fanning and Taylor. I don't need Tre Harris at WR but I have always loved him as a prospect. Just had to take him when he was there in front of me. I think my team is super stacked coming into this season and is well set up to be a competitor for years and years to come.

I can't wait to see what is in store for this upcoming season. A lot of teams have already made some moves to improve their roster this offseason. Plus The Killing Fields has a new and awesome manager. And hopefully this year we can see improvement from BDB, TBone, Bluth, and My Team. Year One of the league was super competitive, with a logjam at the top of the standings. Year Two there was not as much parity. There was a lot of separation at the top, with the top 4 teams securing their playoff berths with 2 weeks still left in the season. I'm hoping for more of a return to Year One competitiveness, and I think we're headed in the right direction.

Great draft everyone and good luck this season.
