Week Nine Recap: The Rad Dynasty 2025 Season! (3.09)

Week 9 is over and done with. While it may have been a somewhat predictable week, it helped lay the groundwork for the end game this season. With only 6 weeks left in the fantasy regular season, 4 playoff spots are up for grabs. And 6 teams are still in contention, as there is a log jam at the top of the standings.

Player of the week goes to Joe Flacco for the Bengals. He had 38.7 fantasy points for Show me the TDs. Turns out to be a much needed performance, as My Team gave him a surprisingly good game.

Show me the TDs (6-3) 174.80 vs My Team (1-8) 147.26

This was My Team's best performance in a while, fueled by Brock Bowers and his 37.3 points. Unfortunately it was not enough, as Show me the TDs exploded. Not only did Flacco have a big game, but five other players had what I would call big games as well. That TE duo of McBride and LaPorta is looking deadly.

Show me the TDs moves to 2-1 all time against My Team. Next week they face off against struggling BDB as they look to move to 7-3. My Team is going nowhere fast. The good news is that they play TBone next week. I'm surprisingly invested in this matchup against basement dwelling teams. It could go a long way towards determining who has the #1 pick next year: My Team or Teflon Don (as they acquired TBone's first rounder).

Dynastic Dan (8-1) 148.22 vs Teflon Don (3-6) 121.87

This was a tough loss for Teflon Don. He now drops to 0-5 against his brother and barring a miracle, will likely miss out on the playoffs this year. This was a must win game. Not only that, but he lost Jayden Daniels to a gruesome injury, another injury in a long line of injuries for this team this year. I really thought he was going to beat me this week, as I randomly checked my phone on Sunday and saw he was projected to win 137 to 130. But that was before Josh Allen, James Cook, and Marvin Harrison Jr played and beat the remaining projections.

Bad news for Dynastic Dan, as Tucker Kraft is out for the year with an injury. The next game against 6-3 ned begins a super tough stretch in the schedule as his next opponents after ned are 7-2 Scotty, 6-3 TDs or Bust, and 7-2 Skattebo Doesn't Know. Teflon Don is probably thinking about next year and hoping TBone loses the rest of his games. Chris could be armed with two top-5 draft picks next year (including the #1) if things hold up.

Skattebo Doesn't Know (7-2) 134.81 vs AR12 is Weird (7-2) 130.35

This was a super close game and a tough luck loss for Scotty. Dynastic Dan now sits alone in first at 8-1. But if just one play in this matchup goes the other way, Scotty is 8-1 while Mike is 6-3. This could be a big game when the end of year standings comes around.

Apparently these teams tend to meet a lot, as Mike now holds a 3-2 edge in the all time series against Scotty. Mike has another big game next week against another former CapTel coworker: Perry. That game is going to be hyuuuge. A loss would knock Perry out of the playoff picture (for now). Scotty has a better matchup against 3-6 Alice, but that is not a game to be overlooked. Alice is always a tough opponent, even this year when having a down season.

Bluth Company (4-5) 160.67 vs TBone's Terrific Team (0-9) 108

The losing streak now hits 19 for TBone. Believe it or not, this was Bluth's first ever win against TBone. He is now 1-2 against him all time. Bluth's team had another good performance, pulling within one game of .500. While Bluth's chances might not look too great, you can never discount the team getting hot and another team ahead in the standings getting cold.

Bluth looks to take the next step and move to .500 next week against Teflon Don. A loss here would certainly be the final nail in the coffin for either of these two teams. TBone looks to avoid losing 20 in a row as he takes on My Team next week. Does this count as a Toilet Bowl matchup? Someone has got to win! If TBone ever had a chance, it is here.

ned's rollers (6-3) 155.25 vs Alice in Horns (3-6) 120.32

This was a battle of two teams going opposite directions. Ned improves to 6-3 and is continuing to look like one of the strongest teams in the league, while Alice continues to sink in the standings. While it is looking like it might be a lost season for Alice, there is room for optimism when I look at the potential roster for next year. Add a high draft pick on top of that, plus an expanded playoff field, and this team is right back in it.

Alice's matchup next week against AR12 is Weird will be a key showdown. One more loss and it is safe to say Alice's season is over. Ned has a huge game against Dynastic Dan in what will certainly be the biggest game of next week. Ned now leads the all-time series with Alice 2-1.

TDs or Bust (6-3) 151.71 vs BDB's Jet Setters (3-6) 90.6

This game was never competitive. Perry moves to 6-3 in what was pretty much a gimme win. Drake London had a massive 34 point game. On the flip side of things, I don't know where BDB was or what he was doing, but he left several players who had a bye week in the lineup. That's not good. Yup, pretty much an easy win for TDs or Bust.

Perry is now 3-0 all time against BDB. Things don't get easier for BDB next week as he takes on the other TDs team: Show me the TDs. BDB will be massive underdogs in that game. Hopefully we see more fight out of them than we did this week. TDs or Bust has a massive game on the horizon against Skattebo Doesn't Know. Big playoff implications on the line in this one.

A look at the standings below. 6 teams are all bunched up, fighting for those 4 playoff spots. Pretty much every game is a playoff game going forward for many of these teams. One thing I do like about only having 4 playoff spots, is it makes every single regular season game sooo much more important. I'll enjoy it while I can because next year we're going to 6! I can't wait. I almost wish we could do it this year, but I always require one full season's notice before making any changes.
